If the issue comments are to be believed it could be related to the codex system prompt itself so likely just the harness. I agree the wording is weird but they appear to be referencing GPT 5.5 in Codex because yeah there isn’t a GPT5.5 Codex model.

By this point I’m not sure why everyone isn’t in “default satire” mode.

> Do that well and you can build what a team of twenty engineers would put out in a month for around a thousand dollars.

What does this look like after 6-12 months? Like, how much code are you trying to write total?

Maybe it just doesn’t click in my mind, but sometimes I wonder about how much work people are trying to do and how they actually have enough to get done so quickly in such a short amount of time.

Usually take mushrooms or gummies and see what happens.

This isn't even troll post. AI has killed the ability to reach flow for me, but I basically have to use it at work so <shrug>. But if I'm WFH or at night, a little help helps me stay focused and connected to my work, sometimes even with AI. Does my mind drift? sure. But that's as close as I get to flow now.

The maintainer of pnpm mentioned this on the pod rocket podcast recently. Based on recent npm exploits they decided to (and based on a poll they did most users agreed) set to 1 day by default in v11. Can always choose to change it if you desire.

I always read this as a tongue in cheek joke b/c of how the — appears left aligned, then right aligned, then elsewhere in the Zen center aligned, sort of pointing to how yeah there’s multiple ways to do things …

Yeah I agree with you fully here. As much as the nostalgia twinges my heart and I want the same for my kids, I’m not sure it’s doing them any favors. Us holding onto a past they never knew doesn’t mean we’re doing “the right thing” for them. Alas, parenting is hard.

I think for me it's hard to conceptualize what "do what I want to do all day, stress free, for the rest of my life." really means. Maybe it's just because i've been conditioned since a child to expect to "work" and "do things", but periods of my life where i've had that similar amount of freedom have always felt somewhat aimless and purposeless to me. But would i feel that way if i had never felt the need to work and be productive? Not sure.

For me personally, having the right job is actually more interesting to me than doing whatever i want all day then given my conditioning. I think because without the job I wouldn't have the same opportunity to encounter the "problems" i enjoy "solving" at work with critical thinking. It's kinda like training for a sport? Sometimes having a competition or a game is a nice forcing function to make it all feel real?
