My insurance says ambulance rides are covered 100%. Apparently most are out of network though, which the people have no choice of choosing (obviously).
I was sent a post insurance $8000 bill. After months and months of arguing they said it was an error on their side and dropped the charge. Absolutely ridiculous
When the “big one” hits Seattle, the PNW is absolutely cooked. Not to fear monger but the fear in my eyes seems somewhat realistic. Anyone care to fact check me here?
In London now. So fucking hot. I pay like $4k USD for this flat that is barely even acceptable living accommodation on a cold day.
My kitchen hit 37C. I started to look for a new flat. Nothing with AC, but trying to find something on the ground floor. Unfortunately rent is incredibly expensive here even for an old building that barely has functioning water pressure.
I live in a big city and notice this a lot as well. I’m starting to reduce my headphone usage. My hearing is getting worse at a young age.
I don’t think the default should be needing to have a soundtrack to your life. I’m a long distance runner and often run 15-20+ miles without music or headphones. It’s nice
Man LITERALLY this morning I was bitching about my Forerunner. I’ve owned almost every model of these things for over 15 years and they’re all pretty bad on the software side. I feel it’s inexcusable for Garmin given they over charge, under deliver and have billions.
First of all, I paid like 500 bucks for this watch. AirPods don’t work with the Spotify app, MTP protocol for music transfer is horrible, etc.
I’m big into running and would highly recommend not buying a Garmin and instead looking at Coros or Suunto
I have a few of these (including my sisters green ipod mini from childhood). Fun devices that make me nostalgic for the era that got me into programming.
Sadly I stopped using them and gravitated back to the smartphone. Thinking about swapping back to a dumb phone though and perhaps the ipod soon
Is this your reality? I’ve noticed that while the team is way more burned out people are also way less engaged and no longer critically think about edge cases or design reviews, etc anymore.
Improving my focus. Using less AI at work and reading more. Less screen time and more physical things. Spending a lot of time with friends and being outdoors, long distance running and finding more meaning in life
