With streaming balkanized into so many individual providers, it's hard to pay for more than a couple.

So the Grandson has learned to discriminate ads from content, and as soon as an ad comes one, we all chorus, "Stinky Ad!" and then everyone rushes to be the first person to get to the remote and skip it.

It's not a perfect solution, but it's what we have.

No. Wouldn't try it for free.

It's possible there would be a market for this in genres where there is a strong parasocial connection to the author that drives a desire to simulate interaction.

For something factual or scientific/mathematical, I would not want to interact with a nondeterministic pretend version of the author.

Grok is literally built to create nonconsensual porn, so this doesn't seem very surprising to have it sexualize translations.

I plugged the tweet text into Google Translate and it looked just fine. Same with ChatGPT. YMMV

Yep, for-profit healthcare is a bad idea. It's the main reason our USA healthcare costs so much.

It's not the lack of spelling and grammar.

It's the "reduction to the mean" that turns everything into bland corporate-friendly prose like the bulk of the corpus that AI models ingest.

Unironically, this is exactly the state of the world in 2026

My daughter (29) is getting a filing cabinet and pastel folders. And a cute EDC kit with knife, pen, and screwdriver. My grandson (2) is getting books, little people, and a cheap drone that floats and is controlled by hand movements.
