As a developer on the game (0AD) I must say I find it way more relaxing than RA and Starcraft(n) and easier to manage with only 4 basic resources. As for the AI challenge on all of these games it comes down to how fast you analyze random terrains and the most optimized opening build order - something they (RTS) all share in common.

Would really be nice if they did the same with their ads, but don't see that happening

The same could really be said for Quantum/Shor IMO.

Some of this has to also do w/ the environment. If you have a solid weekend pickup game of any kind and a park/rink/court closes it is pretty much the end of that group, as much as you might try to find another spot it is never the same.

We need smarter dynamic fares, it shouldn't be a $6 flat tax on all destinations. I think this hurts local businesses, or all local (non business) residents should automatically get half fare.

Might be worth digging through MicroRTS too, https://github.com/Farama-Foundation/MicroRTS (it's been abandoned), Python RL interface @ https://github.com/Farama-Foundation/MicroRTS-Py ... I think there was some strategy work there.

Extremely helpful, do you have a post about how this works on the backend?

"You’re carrying around in your head a model of how the world works" (or so you thought) ... the real AI is in a) how fast you can realize it's changed and b) how fast you can adapt. This bit isn't being optimized, it's being dragged out.
