All I care about is the hardware acceleration of video codecs.

If a $1400 M1 powered MacBook Pro can edit and cut 8K Canon RAW Light And ALL-I HEVC from the Canon R5, it’s very attractive to me.

I hate conspiracies but I honestly think the IoT concept is an extremely terrible idea and perhaps even a cultural and societal nuclear bomb.

Hopefully Apple will go back to being a integrated hardware and software company.

It makes absolute sense to me for a future MacBook Pro to have a great AMD/Intel CPU and one of their high performance A13X chips with neural accelerators to accelerating specifics tasks to improve performance and battery life.

I'm thinking audio/video encoding in FCPX, neural AI assisted tracking, color matching, face detection, ProRes acceleration, H264/H265 acceleration.

Would make the price tag of a new MacBook pro much more palatable for FCPX/Logic X users anyway.

Sounds like a symptom of centralized silo services, period. This wouldn’t be a problem if each of those creators had a website with their content on it. The copyright holders would have to issue a DMCA to for that 10 second of radio music, which, while not perfect, is better than this YouTube content claim garbage completely controlled by claimants.

Then maybe copyright law would be molded into a better system. Which is exactly what these copyright cartels DON’T want. They want to avoid any judicial review whatsoever of their actions.
