Imagine if this were built into browsers and you only had to serve a SQLite file.

And the United States Digital Service (USDS) aka the thing they renamed to DOGE.

Ironic, the picture on this article appears to be AI generated. I thought the Sony CD player looked neat, and I'd never seen one like it before. I thought I might try to buy one on eBay, that's how cool I thought it was. But Google says "Digital fingerprints embedded within the file verify that this is an artificially generated rendering."

Well, not exactly. He did say that the hiring process at Geoworks was incredibly rigorous, and that he passed that.

I know this author’s name but not his whole life story, but it reads like he got hired at Amazon before they acquired Geoworks and brought all of his former colleagues over.

The conscious, rational part of the psyche that defines an individual's sense of self-worth and identity, mediating between reality and instinct.

I had a similar thought at first, and then remembered the steady technical progress of the Shuttle era (at least from my recollection).

This seems to be a distinction without a difference. The buck stops with them.

Since you've drawn the comparison, it's worth pointing out that a notable difference is that Nancy Pelosi was not (nor was running to be) POTUS and could not have unilaterally gotten the US into a war in the middle east.

Do people say .net in some way other than "dotnet"? Or did I misunderstand?

Brain/computer interface that completely simulates inputs which drive perceptions which are indistinguishable from reality. At least, that’s what is portrayed in the movie. I’m not OP but this to me seems far off.

I wonder how it avoids pipes stubbed up through the slab, or electrical EMT, etc. or how it avoids mistakes made during the rough-in.

What if the plumber missed a drain or supply by an inch? Guessing the robot doesn't adjust its outline. I.e. if a sewer stub is wrong by a few inches, the wall needs to be moved to fit the toilet, or the slab needs to be busted up and the sewer line relocated.

I suppose if it gets some of this wrong, it'll be obvious, and a human can correct it.
