The flame bait response, as you put it, is more terse than the article. We’ve seen the appeal to authority and the censoring of those who questioned the science writ large over Covid. We’ve seen it heavily on this platform. Censoring things that have facts is wrong.

Another option is to not allow EBT to buy sugary drinks. This would reduce type 2 diabetes and heart issues in a population that has one of the highest rates.

Maybe. But it depends on the time window. For example, it would seem to be unwise to build a multi-million dollar house just a few feet above sea level given the dire projections of sea level rise. However Obama’s new house is just that. So if you are only looking at a time horizon of 60 years, Florida is in a pretty good spot.
