Im not sure if you follow the „knockoff“ legos, but the quality is very close for several brands. I own several 5000+ piece sets and while there is the occasional mold issue, you get plenty of replacement parts, pay a third for it and don’t have to deal with all the random colors that Lego includes in the unseen parts of the builds. They are usually tighter compared to Legos, but since I don’t intend to take these sets apart often that’s not an issue.
Also some of these sets are official as well. Like the Cada AMG One with the license from Mercedes and Michelin, which is miles ahead in feature/price compared to LEGO technic offers.
A lot of private trackers, indexers or forums operate on an invite fee/donation to get access. So I’m not really surprised that people would pay a small amount for a possible access to an unlimited amount of entertainment. There’s also an active market for paid access to private Plex servers.
In germany the difference would be the license to transport other people.
At least that was named as the issue when Uber initially wanted to expend to Germany.
Germany made a lot of mistakes over COVID. There were several cases of testing center scams where people reported more tests than they actually administered. No proof required. There is not a lot of bureaucracy surrounding vaccinations at least not from a patients point of view. So if you forgot or lost your vaccination pass you could probably just get another shot especially if you’re older/at risk.
