Perhaps some of those 94% believe Apple shouldn't waste the physical resources to create an iPhone every year. If they used an extra year worth of time and resources on making the phone better, maybe it wouldn't be such an incremental upgrade, use less precious physical resources, and create less waste.

I sure have, but I have not jailbroken an iPhone. Well I hadn't imagined how a jailbreak on iOS might work either. Will it patch system files, programs, and drivers on disk persistently? Well that seems it would be the simplest way to keep the jailbreak, now that's some extra integrity checking to bypass as well. Do these jailbreakers have a number of exploits for writing to kernel memory? It's likely they would want to read it as well, but it's not always required. It seems old parts of the Darwin kernel are open source, which if it hasn't been drastically changed in every way, makes it a lot easier to understand the kernel and find problems. It would be interesting to see how these older released exploits work. How do you even do a syscall on iOS?

A bigger challenge I think would be new gen gaming consoles, this would be awesome. There does exist exploits for these I believe, but they are private and public ones get patched, then you can't play online or downgrade updates easily. Maybe it would be easier to stay on an older version and make your PlayStation think your on the latest version, maybe this is what those who have it do.

On windows, there are many problems you can run into by directly manipulating kernel structures, but that doesn't mean it cant be done safely, especially on things outside of something like win32k which is a mess. Hooking things won't get you in trouble, unless for example you're hooking integrity checked functions or data regions on Windows and get patchguarded. Which doesn't run everywhere on the windows kernel and can be maliciously disabled, not even ntoskrnl executable sections are fully protected by PG.

5lb bag of yellow potatoes $4. 1lb of ground beef $5. 8 buns <$1.50. ketchup, mustard will last months. That's 4 quarter pounders for $10 with many servings of fries. Add lettuce and onions if you want, another <$3 total.

Exploits in computers and using them doesn't inherently make them more unstable. These exploits rely on existing things in code and memory to make use of. It's not like after using one, your system will be less unstable in almost all cases. It is possible that the system could somehow detect that it was tampered with, or the jailbreak itself did some things, potentially malicious, then make things like this happen. You could also say that it may not be seeable from a mac because the system is more open than the mobile version. If someone wanted to hide it, they might decide not to put it in the version that can be more easily reverse engineered.

I've got a $150 T480s. It only has one, non hot swappable battery. Though it can be easily replaced. The T480 non s has 2 batteries. One external and one internal. Unless you count the cmos battery, which can be replaced on either. The build quality on the T480s is also higher.

If you mean people should live in apartments. Then those apartments should be owned by the government, or by the people, not greedy corporations who want to own you like property and fix prices for their apartments because you can't afford their houses. If I pay the government for housing, I can at least hope they will use the money to improve my life or someone else's. If I pay Micro$oft for my apartment, I know they will push everything to the edge of terrible then beyond so they can make more money while harming my living experience and indoctrinating me into thinking that's normal.

I don't have a link to a tek, as I've combined my findings to make the best quality oil with my current understanding and available technology. It's evolved over the batches and is pretty good I think now. Though you could find something similar on the internet. It does use food grade grain alcohol, close to ethanol.

I start by grinding the flower to small pieces, or use shake which is significantly less expensive and of similar quality, and matters less if your not gonna smoke it.

Next I take 3-3.5 ounces and cook it in the oven. I've tried a few different things. Mason jar or a Pyrex pan. I've done some smaller batches in the past, but now I do 4 ounces at once, a normal size mason jar doesn't usually fit everything. Ive used pickle jars and jalapeno jars which are larger and can fit everything. I heat the oven to 245, and put it in there for an hour, rotating and shaking it every 15 to 20 minutes. Don't cover the jar too tight, as it can explode from pressure. If you use a mason jar, you can use foil with the lid instead of the normal metal cap. I also use a temperature gun on my oven to check on it, many ovens will not be accurate.

I only cook 3 ounces because I keep the rest uncooked to use later. Heating the CBDa will turn it into CBD. You probably won't get everything converted, so there will be a little bit left. You'll keep some of the terpenes if you cover what your heating. Some people believe that the terpenes in cannabis, which give it flavor and taste, can be helpful. Personally, I believe that some of them may be helpful, but some of them are harmful, especially when inhaled. Helpful in the way that they could boost the effects or create strain specific effects.

Now to the uncooked 0.5-1 ounce, I keep that so I can have CBDa and a little THCa. It's commonly thought that you need to heat these acidic cannabinoids to make them useful, but this is not the case. The acidic version like CBDa and THCa have their own effects, such as a much more powerful anti inflammatory effect, stronger anxiolytic effects, and different serotonin effects. I would also like to add that normal CBD is excellent for blood pressure. If your goal is to get high, then youll probably want to turn your THCa into THC. Leaving some uncooked will also make the final product taste very strongly of the original strain, if your into that. There's another cannabinoid called CBGa, which is the precursor to CBD and THC, when the plant is growing it goes from the enzymes it produces, to CBGa, to THCa (or CBDa), the THCa will then degrade into THC, then finally into CBN. You could make your own CBN by heating THC for a long period of time. Another cool thing you could do is convert CBD into D8-THC with citric acid. I'll also note that CBG/a is supposedly good for your gut health, inflammation, and protects your brain. Ive taken higher doses of CBG, and experienced some irritability when taking it, but I can't confirm that it was from that, I'll have to experiment more in the future.

Now onto the next step.

Next I take all of the material in the jar, cooked and uncooked, and cover it with 95% food grain alcohol. I use this because it's safe to consume. I assume I can't get 100% of the solvent out later, and using isopropyl or butane would not be safe to consume. So I cover it, shake it up, and stick it in the freezer. Shaking it every so often. You could leave it in for a few hours or days, you might get a little more out. If you leave it for more than a few minutes, you'll get a lot of chlorophyll, which will make the final product very dark due to how light interacts with it. I put it in the freezer to try and reduce this a little bit, but it probably doesn't help too much, nor does it really bother me.

After letting it soak in the solvent, I take it out and strain it into a bowl using a nut milk bag, then transfer it to a beaker. Now here is where my process can definitely be improved. Currently, I put the beaker in a pot with a small amount of water, to evaporate off the alcohol. This is kind of wasteful, as you lose the alcohol after now. Instead, and in the future, I would like to set up a distillation apparatus so that I can catch all the evaporating alcohol to use again. I just haven't got the equipment yet.

Now you should let all the alcohol be removed from the solution. I keep it at about 120-150 degrees fahrenheit. When it's done, you'll have a small amount of black oil, 15 to 20 grams of pure concentrate. I assume the efficiency is about 85-90% from what we started with. But this isn't all, the oil that is now in the beaker is very thick, it's hard to get it out in its current form. So, take the amount of concentrate you have now, and subtract it from the final amount you want to have. I turn 4 ounces into a 60 ml bottle. Usually I have about 20 grams of concentrate. So Ill use 40 grams here. I have another measuring cup, I fill this with a mixture of MCT oil, grape seed oil, and sunflower lecithin. MCT oil vs grape seed oil is a choice you can make, some people's bodies don't react to MCT oil well (nausea, usually from large doses, 1+ tbsp at once, especially if you've never had it before). I use a combination of all three. The MCT may help with absorption into your body later as well as bind together in the final product better. The sunflower lecithin is an emulsifier, which will help your body absorb it when you take it. Use at least 1/3 sunflower lecithin. These 2 oils also can have positive effects on your health.

Now you take this mixture, and heat it up until it's homogeneous. Then dump that into the existing black oil concentrate while still heating it to dilute it to your desired dosage and overall amount. Carefully shake the beaker in a circlular motion to help mix it in. I estimate that with 4 ounces, you'll get about 250-350mg of cannabinoids per gram in the oil. That range depends on your starting material potency and amount.

Something else to mention is that eating cannabinoids provides a different effect than smoking them. Your body digests and metabolizes them differently. When it comes to THC, which there will be a small but notable amount of, especially if you have no tolerance, your body will turn it into 11-hydroxy-THC. Depending on your genetics and how well you absorb it (some people can't absorb edibles at all), it will be about 5x stronger than the same amount smoked, while lasting longer. If you don't want any THC, make sure what your getting has none or very little in it. Personally, I don't like taking pure THC strains anymore, but the tiny bit that does occur in CBD dominant hemp, does boost the overall effects in good way unless I take too much.

To respond to a few other things you said. Inhaling can have a different head space effect, yes. With that said, eating it does produce a more powerful, sometimes more sedative effect, more psychedelic. The first time I made THC edibles and took them, it felt like the first time I smoked, everything was hilarious and I talked a lot. I also stopped smoking due to my lungs, unfortunately from covid, but I've found now that taking oil is a lot easier to do consistently (primarily CBD), and is much less addictive than smoking (because the act of smoking itself can be addictive), so it feels like less of a "drug".

My other comment about pharma may have come off a little harsh. I do believe there is good, but also bad. Some doctors are more empathetic and understanding, while others are there for their job, don't research outside what they already know, and push what they are told to. To be the best, you must have a genuine interest and desire to know more, maybe even an obsession, with whatever it is. Pharmaceuticals certainly have their place, as not everything can be solved with nature. Though I also believe many drugs produced by pharma are designed to be sold and make money, not to cure and help people, which is a conflict of interest.

Try buying a quarter pound of CBD hemp and turn it into a small amount of concentrated oil. I want to spread the word, this is the way. The best bang for your buck and highest quality oil you can get, better than most commercially available edible products. I wrote some more info and my process on another comment on here. If your interested, I can write more here too.

I used to use THC heavily, but the negative effect was noticable in multiple aspects. So I stopped for a while. Now I take full spectrum CBD oil that I make myself. It has a low amount of THC in it, which boosts the overall effects. It's a much better experience than taking high THC strains imo.

My $150 used Thinkpad has a high quality build, 16gb of ram, and can play a YouTube video while talking to people on the webcam. It has an 8th Intel cpu, which is about the same speed as a 10th Gen Intel CPU. The M2 is about double the speed in single core and multi core, but that isn't required for most simple tasks.

> Here's hoping more accurate dosing will be a side effect of this. Going by rough weight of a plant that includes a lot of water always seemed kind of sketchy to me.

> I've heard of tinctures made by dissolving them in alcohol, but I don't think even those are measured objectively. No idea what sort of titration/measurement you'd do to determine the mg amount of psilocybin, or if that's even well documented.

You could create a tincture and test it. And like the other person who replied said, the doses will be consistent.

Personally I took magic mushrooms once. I've always been an anxious person. For at least 2 or 3 months after. My anxiety was gone like never before, I was not scared of anything or talking to anyone. I was the most free I ever was. Ive been wanting to take another dose soon, I think I should... 1g.

I make full spectrum CBD oil for myself and family. It has a very real effect too. Much more powerful than most CBD products you can purchase, because it will contain more than pure CBD. Its the same process as a tincture with a few steps after. I turn 4 ounces (112g) into 60ml. ~300+ mg/g, take 0.05-0.1g. I think the benefits should be experienced without expectations, because they can vary. Helps with stress, anxiety, blood pressure, inflammation and some pain, arthritis, and others. There are some other compounds in this plant that can help with other things. CBG/A CBN, CBDA. A tiny bit of THC, which is naturally found in tiny amounts in most CBD containing plants, increases the effects of the others greatly. Too much THC alone has a negative impact if you continue long term use, at least on me. These compounds effect the endocannabinoid system, but have some off target activity which is why a variety of similar compounds can have a lot of different effects. Those other compounds can help with different issues-digestion, sleep. Keeping a decent amount of CBD/G(A) (by not cooking/heating it) is important too.

I am a very scientific person, and I understand some people are weary of this type of medicine. But what is your alternative? Eat the pills by big pharma filled with lies to sell drugs and make money? Take an SSRI so you can kill your sex drive and feel like a zombie? Maybe that won't happen to you, and I understand that they help some or many people. But if you understood the potential negative effects, and that some of them can be permanent, would you still be okay with starting it yourself? Perhaps something that has grown in nature with us can be beneficial, we came from the same planet, we evolved together. We consider other plants and vegetables from this earth to be healthy for us, why? Coffee, tea, in moderation, are good for you too. Tea is more than just caffeine.

Well I got COVID over a year ago and still have negative effects every day. Went to the doctor multiple times and they said I'm ok, I don't think they tested enough or looked at the right things. It's one of the worst things that's happened to me. I'm only in my 20s.

The problem with these kinds of websites is the user base is never "normal" people. Nor is it just a bunch of tech people, most don't even know these websites exist. It's people who are against the status quo, for various reasons. They aren't coming to these platforms because they are functionally better, but because they better align with their values. Their reasons never enter the mind of the general population because it's not relevant or on their mind. Anyway, this all makes for a small amount of similar content that can easily feel politically motivated or oriented. They also often require multiple unintuitive steps to even start using it, that's simply not gonna fly for the average ux enjoyer.

With that said, I believe I've noticed a shift in a noticable number of average people's attitudes towards corporate abuse and privacy violations. I've also seen more services with privacy oriented marketing. Many people may not seem to care about their privacy, but from what I've seen, a lot of people do, it's just difficult to navigate or have any idea of what to do or where to start, or know what is even true or false. I've had numerous people who I talked to about it in the past start paying more mind to it. One person actually got very serious about it, like myself. Seeing someone else as concerned as myself didn't bode well with me, because it does cause me stress and anxiety that other people shouldn't have. Ignorance is bliss. I know I went a bit off topic here but I felt like writing this and didn't see anywhere else more appropriate.

Video games with anti cheats don't normally run as admin. A service on windows is created by requesting admin once when installing the anti cheat, so that the service with a kernel driver can be loaded without admin.

Furthermore, it's funny when people cry about how kernel anticheats are invading their privacy. These anticheats are better secured and protected than 99% of the drivers for windows, which are FULL of kernel elevation exploits. Absolutely filled to brink. I could go into it more, but this thread isn't the place.

I don't see why it shouldn't be possible to experience many years in your brain without experiencing it in the real world. It's a lot of information being processed by your brain while being disconnected from normal time.

When a drug is inducing time dilation, why is that? Usually it happens when the effect is strong, and in the drugs that cause it, that usually means being more disconnected or in your own world. Or when working on something you are really into, and not realizing it's been 8 hours in what felt like 2.

I may have experienced an OOBE myself, but I'm not sure. Anyway, what I'm interested in is, let's say your looking down from above. Are you able to accurately describe details behind you? Things that your eyes can't possibly see? Are there cases where someone is with another person, describing information they shouldn't normally be able to sense? What happens when they do?

When I visualize something, most often I cannot literally see it, but it's as if my brain is processing the information like Im looking at it. It also applies to feel and touch. If I try to see a dice I can "see" it, zoom in, and even feel the indent for each black dot. But I don't literally see a dice.

When it comes to doing math, it is a similar story. When working with matrices I can see the array and transformations in my mind, and when working with 3d trig and calc I can visualize each vector and how they interact with the world.

I can visualize two colored planes perpendicular to each other, but I can't render it.

I think when I take cannabis edibles, it improves these abilities slightly but noticably. I don't usually take big doses of THC, but a lower dose of THC with a higher dose of CBD.

Are you referring to people not having the desire or time to learn how to set up these types of things, but want to use them?

The solution is... centralization, on a smaller scale. Maybe that's a home network admin, or a whole street, neighborhood, city, community. I don't really know.

It's not reasonable to think everyone needs or wants to manage their network and services, of course. The cost to ensure everyone has this specialized knowledge is terribly high, it will waste what else they could have known instead.

Now to provide these kinds of services as a city or community is certainly not free, even if the software is free. It costs people's time, experience, and knowledge. It requires powerful enough servers to handle requests and storage for everything.

Another thing to mention is that these open source services are probably full of very critical and damaging exploits, but they are not seen or cared about yet because these services are not mainstream popular or often not public facing at all. Popular open source services have had many of their high level exploits discovered, and closed source things are scrutinized differently.

It feels like my brain is processing and feeling what it would look like if I truly saw it. I can see a dice, zoom in on it, and feel the indented bumps where the black dots go. But the actual image of a dice just barely escapes me. It's similar when visualizing math too.
