imagine the thing has no wheels. the wind provides an energy source.

now imagine a sail cart. you can put a dynamo on the wheel and extract power

now imagine a sail boat sailing close to the wind. it can go much much faster than the wind speed

now imagine a batter powerd propeller pushing a cart forwards.

now imagine the battery powered prop is pushing against the wind. a+b

now remove the battery and extract the power (a) from the wheels.

in theory we could accomplish great things by spying on everyone but even a small amount of abuse of such tools is unacceptable. I dont think we can stop the mass spying indefinetly which makes me think the corrupt governments and dictators are increasingly viable low hanging fruits. there will be a point where we have no other choice but to dethrone them. if we fail there we will all be like the chinese captures in a panopticon of cameras driving large behavrioal datacenters.

With animal intelligence all involved parts are optimized. Remove the thumb and catching a tennisball becomes many fold as complex. A self driving car is an attempt to make carts work without rails while behaving just like railed vehicles. its an unintelligent idea. Perhaps if roads grew naturally it would make some sense?

Some CAI guy made a facinating remark. Self driving cars are the ultimate weapon.

Currently the goal is to avoid all kinds of harm, when we have that it is easy to allow something specific. There could even be plausible deniability.

Where is the intelligence?

in the 80s an american tourist watched a full movie on bbc and was confused as hell by it running start to finish without a single ad. "If i buy the video or go to the cinema i still have to see 1000 adverts"

apple is right, we should ban rentseeking on app platforms entirely. Let them charge fees for actual products and services like code reviews and phones. Then they should deliver security protocols that must be enforced by alternative app shops on their platform.

i havent looked at this in depth or even glazed over it but it seems the system of punishment scaled up to prevent repetition should work just fine? you punish the crime by the illegally gathered evidence AND you punish those who gathered it - harshly enough to prevent repetition? if the evidence is fabricated one should enjoy a good few years behind bars?

naive i know :-)

$1 for labor

> For the effect to work, the cost disclosure must be voluntary, not forced (e.g. by regulation).

A logical conclusion from the study.</sarcasm>

i have the opposite, my mind just phases out and its as if the ad doesnt exist. i only found out when i got angry i couldnt find the download button on the download page and a frind pointed to the middle of the screen... then a giant banner sized button just appeard without the picture changing in a spot that was blank before. It was weird as hell. now that i notice it i notice i have no idea what a video advert was about when it ends or i press skip

The most stupid part is that if they exist the company must use them.

technically we can have every cent tracable and accounted for but that would give to much power to productive people.

the symbolism is the problem and you need to account for it if you desire to cater to other ppls perception. You can also not care and just put it the way you think describes something.

the joke if you like is in the intend. If you chose not to correct your language it becomes intentional.

i offer no solutions
