Education has been on a lets get as top heavy as we can kick for years. Go to any educational institution, anywhere in the US. Check out the oak paneling in the administrative offices. Check out the explosion of administrative positions.
Check out the rise of administrator salaries. That is where the money goes while class sizes increase, teacher salaries nosedive, and essential core subjects get trivialized or cut.
True, true.
This also applies to most game publishing houses, not just the mothership.
There is a group-think mob mentality that ravenously follows the whims of top management as 'hip' and mere players are referred to as scrubs and considered not worthy to make suggestions or criticize.
Go to any popular MMO forum and criticize any portion of the games supposed backstory, and prepare for the waterfall of developer lead fanboy rage in response.
There are various tropes baked into this culture. All the 'bros' know that universally pet classes must always be second class citizens. Don't overlook how pay to win, and lottery style 'mystery boxes' that asian cultures are so fond of, almost overnight became fixtures in almost every online game now.
As we speak, laws are/were passed here in the US that will make it ok for predatory banks to confisticate your savings and give you some worthless stock in exchange.
Contemporary dance is to now what 'modern dance' was to the 50s and 60s, just bad dancers putting on really bad productions everyone wants to forget as soon as possible.
I can save them a few hundred million bucks, mix in McGuffins every few paragraphs, wrap things up with a shaggy dog ending. Include gratuitous explosions, car/plane/train crashes, and rescue the chick, puppy, small children between McGuffins.
Public efforts regarding Mental Health have been almost completely obliterated by the 1% in their greedy rush to take everything. MH is at the heart of this sick young man's tradgedy and the ever more frequent serial killings.
I don't buy all the victim scenarios for this fellow. He was smart, he knew what he was getting into. He knew attacking the established status quo would have dire consequences. He had plenty of opportunities to change his path to a less risky one. He knew going into this that to challenge these people would bring concrete and powerful counter attacks aimed at him.
What he did not know was how to cope with depression, how and were to get help, and was too ingrained with the imposed taboos to seek help.
That kind of money is tiddlywinks for city's and states, the real ongoing scam is what is called the 'capital expenditure budgets' of these orgnizations. Massive sums of money, that tend to go no-bid, or fixed bid contracts with the authorities buddies. Services to constituents get cut, but the capital exp. budget never gets cut, it is always increased.
Idiots at work here. Subjective questionairres are always a total waste of time. They should have given participants a performance test of some kind. I will wager the gamers would perform as good or better than the non-gamers.
The last thing and skill that 99% of today's fascist corporate CEO's want to do is practice leadership. Their main skill is the con. Conning their way into their positions, and then using the resulting power to eliminate any potential rivals. That is what 99% of today's CEO spend their time on. Talking about leadership is kind of like salving their ego's to convince themselves they provide any value at all to the social equation.
I think it is rather laughable all the tea party kooks here stepping up to justify this kind of bloated top heavy organization. Little wonder US universities are headed south in terms of the quality of their grads. All part of the same sports virus infects all of US education. It it makes money, it gets priority. No wonder US education costs are so high, yet teachers and students get shafted.
Wow that is almost, but not quite as bad as the Memphis City School system, which has more administrators per student than any school system on the planet.
