I’ve got a side project going that’s a browser extension (starting with Safari + Sign in with Apple) intended to add a comment layer to the internet as a whole. I’m calling it Chaffiti (https://chaffiti.com).
The idea is to enable a comment section on any webpage, right as you’re browsing. Viewing a Zillow listing? See what people are excited about with the property. Wonder what people think about a tourist attraction? It’ll be right there. Want to leave your referral or promo code on a checkout page for others? Post it.
Not sure what the business model will look like just yet. Just the kind of thing I wish existed compared to needing to venture out to a third party (traditional social media / forums etc) to see others’ thoughts on something I’m viewing online. I welcome any feedback!
I created a no-frills guest list management web app for social get togethers. You rsvp via sms and event hosts can broadcast any updates/reminders as needed. I got a little “dissatisfied” seeing group chats light up with “+1!” when plans were shared. Would be cool to enhance it and make it a business but [excuses here].
Some buddies and I were talking about a similar site (https://whopaid99cents.com) that spawned the idea for this.
I found the original concept so absurd but amusing that I wanted to make my own version!! It’s been a welcome distraction as you can imagine and could be the basis for something more. Tbd...
This one's really silly but I got excited to build it out for my own entertainment.
It's called Who Paid More (https://whopaidmore.com) and the idea is pretty frivolous. Every day (EDT) you volunteer an amount you want to pay to see how your amount stacks up against others for that day. Think ranking and relative % across users for that period and the ability to share those results. Not much more to it at the moment.
I feel a little stuck trying to think of what would make it more fun/novel/rewarding besides just being curious about what people put money into.
I found the above interesting for my own project but it got me wondering. What steps do you or people you know take today to handle digital inheritance?
I don't disagree with you here. I just aim to offer a one-stop shop to get that access.
The ideal scenario too is for credentials, data, etc that's not currently shared between people when alive. So I, for example, as a single dude don't have anyone else with access to me iPhone, email, or Facebook. That's not something I'd just hand over to anyone just in case. In a Passbox scenario though then by all means!
