"You can't criticize lobbying unless you can name all the more active lobbyists" is a very strange concept. Have you thought this one all the way through?
Not voting is a perfectly valid choice. Some people do it because they're dumb or checked out, and some people do it because it's the most rational choice that fits their beliefs. You're naive if you can't process this fact.
This is well reasoned, but it runs into the same issue driving many problems in the US: keeping local governments small and understaffed has incredibly strong bipartisan support.
