Propertly testing and reviewing code is a must with AI, it's actually more important. I don't know why the author feels like it's assumed that this goes out the window with AI

Am I just a luddite, because this seems really far-fetched to me:

>In reality, behind the scenes, the curve is NOT flattening at all; the exponential growth will continue

every other technical leap hit walls where the exponential growth stopped

I really want to know what would've happened with an npm install, I guess something boring like crypto mining or identity theft?

It's point is highlighting a common issue that is becoming widespread due to AI tool proliferation. I have the same exact issues. I used to love sinking into deep work mode but now that's gone.

> The engineer’s advantage, the ability to translate a domain model into working code, is now cheap.

I say this as someone who uses AI a lot. Its still a far cry from cheap, especially with that pesky “working” word in there.

You're describing project-level shared resources, there are local versions of that like CLAUDE.local.md which should be gitignored

> A private citizen given a power to destroy organisations that overlook that citizens businesses?

Except he had no power to do this? In the end the executive branch had to authorize anything coming out of DOGE. Like it or not, elected officials (Trump) rubber stamped the cuts.

>you'll need to privatize the tasks / services which government agencies used to provide

Most of what DOGE cut was stuff no one wanted or needed in the first place. Just scroll their twitter feed, cutting this stuff shouldn't be termed as "smaller government".

This is way over-estimated. There's a number of talking heads on the right that Gen Z listens to. For every Charlie Kirk, there's five others.
