Modern JS frameworks can absolutely catch and isolate errors. In those cases you’d only see the error in the specific component that had the error. Or if they’re a good dev you as a user won’t even know! You’ll see fallback content.

An error blocking the full screen is a failure on the developer not the tools.

It’s a generic error screen from a framework yes.

But the cause of the error is a poor implementation from the developer.

I can write code that errors out in <insert your favorite language here> does that mean it’s bad?

> I am convinced that their talk of UBI is just handwaving

I mean yeah, obviously. You can’t trust a word out of either of their mouths.

This is a poor implementation not a framework problem lol.

First off, It’s good to study all kinds of things isn’t it? Even if it’s not strictly practical.

Second, and more importantly these AI tools are EVERYWHERE right now. The effects of people using them for work can be seen throughout many industries and workplaces.

So I think studying how these models perform in the vast majority of use cases is not only a good idea, but it’s actually really important.

Even if you’re strictly pro-AI and believe it is the future, a study like this can help you explain to laymen why they need the harnesses you’re so in support of.

I think you’re living in a bubble if you think the average user of AI even knows what a harness is

The vast majority of people are literally going to chatGPT, pasting in their document and asking for edits.

Nothing against rhythm games.

But actually creating music or playing an instrument is much more rewarding. The time commitment is part of it, the journey is the destination and all that.

They can’t even deliver their own flagship products without bugs, and terrible UX. So I’m doubtful of their abilities.

These are also the same companies allowing their AI to make decisions in war, have no qualms about the mental issues they’re causing in people, and have abused workers in 3rd world countries for years.

But you think they’re holding out on “destroying the software industry” out of the goodness of their hearts? Come on

Maybe yeah, though I don’t know if practicing restraint is something I would say LLM’s are good at though.

I think to all of the needless comments in code, AI code reviews pointing out inane nitpicks, etc.

It just makes me think your AI assistant is going to be pinging you non stop

But isn’t this just another notification to ignore?

The ticket being assigned to you is your “Hey take care of this!” ping, same with the email or text from your friend.

How long until you start tuning out the openclaw notifications?

I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not…

The type of dev who is allowing AI to do all of their work does not care about the quality of said work.

That is impressive! Thank you for sharing

Do you really need an AI agent to reboot a computer?

This takes maybe 10 minutes to write a script for…

Apologies if I missed it while skimming your blog post.

But could you estimate the token cost of this? Or were you able to comfortably do this with a subscription plan?

> Do you really think AI companies/researchers are motivated by greed?

Researchers, maybe not. Companies, absolutely yes.

I don’t see how you could assume the likes of Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and even Anthropic with all their virtue signaling (for lack of a better term) are motivated by anything other than greed.

So you think a reasonable interview question would involve spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on tokens?

However, HN isn’t asking for our ids yet.

The other side of the coin is half the time you do set aside that simple task for a newbie, they paste it into an LLM and learn nothing now.
