They post the jobs in physical newspaper classifieds in the middle of nowhere, and do not post the job on their normal website, because if they posted a real job they would get hundreds of applicants immediately. It’s a fraud but it was tolerated until recently
I live in Boston and software is dead here. It’s a biotech city but we used to be a player in software. AI missed us, remote work hollowed it out. I would love some AI dollars flowing here but it’s pretty sad. My hope is some defense tech drone stuff blows up but your problems would be welcome on the east coast!
My neighbor is the best wallpaper guy in the city, which you’d think is extremely niche but wallpaper has come back in a big way. All sorts of businesses out there for those who identify needs and service wants. And the best way to know about a business is to work for an established one first
RECUR designs and develops on-chain branded experiences allowing fans to buy, collect, and re-sell digital products and collectibles (NFTs). We recently raised $5M, the largest seed-raise to date in NFT industry history. We are building branded NFT fan experiences for global brands and the first is set to launch in Summer 2021.
RECUR is fundamentally changing the NFT market by creating and setting the standard for a decentralized recurring royalty. Though assets will default to Ethereum, RECUR will ultimately be blockchain agnostic creating the widest distribution and reach for NFTs minted on our platform. RECUR believes that NFTs will act as a gateway for the everyday consumer to enter the crypto space, making its opportunity for growth exponential for its partnered brands.
The raise was led by the Defi Alliance and includes investors and funds such as Joe Lubin (Founder of Ethereum) and Gemini (Tyler & Cameron Winklevoss) among many more.
If you are interested in fully remote work, blockchain, and Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) there is no better place to join.
This is one of the best books you can read as a software engineer. Lessons can be done over weekends and they teach you so, so much. I recommend this to everyone when discussing CS books. Absolutely incredible work - and concise too.
Certainly that’s one way to look at life. In contrast, I try to always treat people with respect, work my hardest, be honest, and have love for family and friends.
Having a healthy amount of skepticism for your employer and job is a good thing. But operating as a sociopath that sees everyone else at work as someone to manipulate in order to enhance your slacking abilities just seems exhausting. I think being a truthful and good person is the better plan.
Please don't down vote this comment. He is making a salient point about why it might not be a good idea to quit at such an early stage. Whether it was the right decision for Contract Beast or not, he is trying to provide a counterpoint to the idea of giving up by providing an alternative anecdote. Some people in a similar situation could use the boost.
Everything I have ever said is only my opinion, and never that of my employer.
