Not trying to take value of our contribution to bitcoin (I don't know much about it to be honest) but, as an outsider, my reaction is: Why does this person feels the need of making such an announcement? Why didn't you took your decision silently?
Also... "leaving BITCOIN"??? Sounds a bit pretentios to me... maybe "leaving BITCONICA" would be a more apropriate title?
It's rather difficult to make money these days without notifying a shitload of institutionalized entities. I'm not saying that I disagree with taxpaying, but things got to a ridiculous level where everything is set up to make sure you have very little opportunities to make money with your work, and if you succeed after all, you're only entitle to a rather small slice.
Each time I see such showing off I get more convinced that such reports are mostly fake and done by script kiddies.
Personally I wouldn't go through the hassle of doing this. I mean, is this really more profitable than a a job as a developer, sysadmin, tester, etc? I wouldn't think so.
But could anybody explain me this simple thing: How does he prevent being traced? Hiding behind Tor will basically do nothing, he will get traced in no time.
So this still confuses me rather much.... so he sends out all sorts of tricks to capture zombies, how does he avoids hitting the wrong targets? (police, feds, etc)
I don't know how many ipods he fixed, but to sum up to $65k, he surely was very busy.
If he charged an average of $30 per fix, he would have to fix 2000+ ipods. Where does one get the word out to 2000 owners of broken ipods of a specific generation?
I don't envy hum, it doesn't feel like 'easy money' nor 'a good business' to me. Way too much work involved.

I for one like GPL's philosophy but to be honest I mostly use MIT on my small projects because I don't care. If credit gets attributed rightfully that's really all I care about.
I don't care if the MIT is better from an economical prespective or whatever. I'm not too worried if a company can't just use my software because it's GPLed. Their effen problem, I believe. For me, the MIT license is just small and to the point. Why isn't that a valid reason?

There are simple ways to prevent junk email to get to you. I open my gmail acount every day and I read pretty much every email I get. I get nearly zero spam/trash. Perhaps you shouldn't sign up for a ton of services that polute your mailbox?
Facebook and twitter fill a niche were email was being used in a way that it was not supposed to. It's electronic mail, you want to send a message to a friend that he/she checks whenever he/she decides to check, emails does that flawlessly. It's not rocket science.
Saying that email 'is broken' touches the hilarious. It's like saying a bycicle is 'broken' because it's not able to take you the same places a car can. I don't know why I even take part in such discussions. I guess I'm bored.
This is what I've waiting for. Knockout, backbone, spine et al gave a glimpse of what html frontend development would be in the future. The future is here now. Cool. I'll drink a beer because of this.

To be honest none of the principles you list convince me that you really need a new language.
I don't see any significant paradigm coming into scene with this language, therefore I don't understand why anyone would bother implementing it.
What's the real reason? Having fun? Learning? Showing off? Trolling? Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with any of these, but you should state the real reason (If you are aware of it, that is).
You nailed it. That is so true. Though it's hard to discuss that openly. For example, how would you have that discussion in front of your girlfriend and your best female friend?
This is an extremely sensitive topic. I don't mind people who don't want to discuss it. But denying it and carefully going around it while trying to show off a supposedly strong and well formed opinion, is the kind of hypocrisy that I just can't stand.
