He didn't pay 44 billion for Twitter.

He paid 44 billion to restore free speech.

I think his cause is more noble than sheer capitalism

Edit: down vote and hate all you want... mark my words .. Elon is going to go down in history as a visionary, a hero and a champion of free speech.

a bunch of angry ex-twitter employees on hacker news is not an accurate representation of reality

That's the cost of free speech apparently.

Elon's cause is more noble than sheer capitalism.

Advertisers don't want to be on a platform that allows honest, open communication. A sterile non-controversial platform is much safer for them.

At some point as our rights and our freedoms in this country slowly erode, we're going to be grateful to have Twitter and to Elon Musk for being one of the last platforms to put our freedoms over sheer capitalism.

I tried to get a job working for the New York times tech department they treated me like absolute ass.

Glad they're getting ripped off.

I'm always struggled with these types of people who think they're better than you and expect you to treat them as such.

The weird part is if you show them up or prove that you're better than them in some way they become extremely ass kissing.

I find it disingenuous and nauseating and it seems that a lot of people are like this if not most people.

Maybe this is just the normal human hierarchy at work and I have autism and I don't connect with it.

I just try to treat everyone equally. I guess I'm the weirdo.

Its out of this world bad. Like every job after a day has hundreds of applicants according to LinkedIn.

Online applying seems to be shooting the rez into the void

One company down...the entire rest of the tech industry to go.

As an over 40 the job search is grim

These current politicians are continuing to skyrocket the national debt.

I don't have to vote for new politicians. I just have to wait for the dollar to collapse.

showing gratuitous sex scenes is not developing the characters and not developing the plot.

is literally just gratuitous clickbait.

May have been titillating before PornHub existed, but now it's just a hassle to watch.

> helping a country defend itself from a brutal imperialistic invasion not helping defend democracy?.

It's not anything that I'm willing to work a few extra hours a week to pay for.

And it stresses me out just submitting code to github.

So what?

USA is not the world police.

If there's no strategic interest or benefit I don't think I should have to work a few extra hours per week to help pay for that war.
