In theory it's all fungible and doesn't work this way. If it did, they would just take out a loan and buyback their stock and skip all the extra steps.

The vast majority of employers will not sponsor you for a H1B, esp. if you don't currently work for them.

Google's official stance is they target 75 percentile pay, not > 95. So not too far off from MS. My guess is they use different peer companies.

This seems like a strawman. You could almost definitely ask/warn the user when they set the cap, or you could make the cap not apply to anything that is not trivially recoverable.

You don't trust the public to filter for themselves but you trust them to elect politicians or judges that will get to filter for you?

The logical extension of your argument is the public not trustworthy enough to even choose their leaders.

Free speech isn't a danger to democracy, thinking like this is.
