That's an interesting take, yes it would imply that the universe was in fact created by god(s), or at least the algorithm that generated the universe was.

But I think it will also mean that we're wholly inconsequential on an individual level. Why allow us to see 93 billion light-years of space if the universe isn't littered with all sorts of interesting stuff, like other life, stuff they're interested in simulating and letting evolve by itself to see what happens.

We're probably not special at all and there's absolutely no reason to interfere with us individually, it defeats the point of the simulation I'd assume and that's where most religions fall apart, they assume there's individual value, that you can pray and receive, that we go some place after we die, so I may have to say yes to gods, no to most religions' takes on what that means. Maybe excluding buddishm because it actually can hold up to simulation theory I believe.

I will assume that all we see isn't managed at all, just spawned into existance once and allowed to evolve freely to be researched.

But all we can really do is speculate, and all may be wrong because we can't even begin to imagine what our "parent" universe looks like, what the beings there feel or think, and why they created all this! Or the whole theory is bogus, equally possible :)

We're in an infinite stack of simulations is what I like to think. Now we're unveiling quantum mechanics it seems the rules are what you would find in an game, things act different when obeserved, like it's an optimisation.

Uncertainty is added in the mix just so stuff would evolve and change, to make the simulation worthwhile.

I think we're in an infinite stack because, if our universe or experience is in fact simulated, and we anticipate that with enough energy and resources we too could simulate a full-fledged universe (which I think is likely). Then the odds of our parent universe also being a simulation are basically 100%, and their parent would also be simulated and so on.

Take no man's sky, I mean sure it's orders of magnitude simpler than an actual universe, but it's an 18 Quintillion planet universe simulation, and when you land on a planet there's animals, plants, buildings. All of it originated from a seed with an algorithm that will fill in the details based on the seed.

Infinities stretch in every direction, and the bottom line is that it's all really irrelavant! I try not to think of it too much, focus on what you enjoy and assume this is the only live you will live, get out of your comfort zone.

This is the third classes css framework I've come across on HN. Please everyone realise this is a great tool for prototyping or projects you want to deploy, deliver and forget about.

Any serious application that you expect to expand on, that needs some level of customisability or needs to import/use third party components(!) like a datepicker should not use classless css. it's a prototyping tool. It's highly incompatbile with everything besides what you write yourself, because it overwrites the defaults, it's inflexible.

Having classless styling has been possible for as long as css has existed, and it's for good reason that this is not in widespread use in usual application development.

Having said that though, I really like how this one looks it's an improvement without going overboard on anything, good job.

If that's really so, then India is leaps and bounds ahead in their "tech-savviness" on all age groups, compared to the rest of the world. I needed to install that stuff for my parents, same with the friends of my parents. How would they know about it otherwise?

Also, how do the common folks block ads on their smart tv, a very common means to watch Youtube? I only know because I'm a programmer, but most people won't know about a wifi-level adblocker.

I appreciate you have these ideals but have you wondered what will happen if every Youtube user in the world starts using AdBlock? In the process leading up to it, people lagging behind will get increasingly worse ads, and when that singularity hits people will need to disable AdBlock to access Youtube, and a mass amount of people will just opt-in to Youtube Premium anyway, or deal with the ads again. There is no alternative to Youtube.

I'm not going to fight against this type of stuff, I think it makes sense that this app which has been free for over a decade, now has an option to subscribe and get an ad-free experience, it makes total sense, we've just been spoiled.

Not the OP but I watch on a smart TV or on my phone a lot, also while commuting. There are also some songs that I can only find on Youtube so I use the music feature quite a lot. so a premium sub was the easiest way for me to not need to deal with those god-awful ads, yeah I know there are hacks like wifi-level adblockers but it's no end-all-be-all.

I know people want to fight against Youtube premium but it's a pointless fight, all that's gonna happen is the less techy-savvy will get bombarded with ads, the more the tech-savvy folk resist, I'm accepting the reality that this free service now needs either a paid plan or to serve more ads, I'm not resisting it, it's just the way it is.

This is nothing new, and it's a bad idea to use this in production. Component you import assume a certain set of default styling, if you overwrite the defaults it'll cause issues. Same as for overwriting javascript prototypes

Nice try, Mark, I won't fall for it

I'd advice against it, unless you want to write every component by hand.

Any third party library or component you use will be affected by "classless". There's a good reason explicitly define classes.

It's the same reason you don't change native prototypes in Javascript. Libraries assume the defaults, both for styling and code.

On the surface this looks nice, until you start using 3rd party componentsand the defaults they assumed for the component are overwritten because the default is changed.

It's no coincidence that we use classes to explicitly apply styles, I don't think this library is a good idea.

It's the same issues as changing native prototypes in Javascript, stuff depends on the defaults to be exactly as specified.

Explicit > Implicit Stuff magically working is great until you need to make an exception.

I joined a company and within a handful of days it was clear it was an absolute mess. From code to management. As a cherry on top, the only frontend developer would be leaving the company within a month, and the code was a mess. I discussed my termination of the trial month with the CEO and he was shocked, but asked if I could at least give feedback and guidance to the team, which I did for the remainder of the week, after which I left and got a great job at some other company, been here for 3 years now.

Bottom line is, if you're not happy with your job, then quit and look for something else. No amount of money is worth your sanity (maybe for a handful of months), if you give some feedback upon leaving you've handled it fantastically professionally. If they're too proud to accept the feedback then that's their loss and you leave without a doubt in your mind it was a bad decision.

Go for it!

this kind of sounds like reddit to be honest, is reddit lacking something you wish would be there?
