seems like a very interesting idea. So many times I wanted some kind of advanced gogle-query-language. (i know about allinurl and such, but thats not enough. google is tuned for average user, which is good for google, but not for any non average query)

software engineer is not same as civil engineer. (i gues the capacity/abiltiy to learn is there, but still.. there is quite a difference)

however bad we will handle it, thee planet will be just fine.

global warming is problem not for the planet or nature, but for humans.

if all humans will die, and 99% of species die, planet will still be ok the nature will still live on.

just that our last record of existence for anybody else to find will be "we were stupid".

reading the post is essential. here is the bit adressing this:

> that may be due to previous hoarding in China coupled with economic slowdown and/or disruptions in their metals markets

semicolons help the parser. easier to point where erroneous statement began.

why no classes? I assume that it's meant just as an initial sketch/demo. Doing 100% is at least twice as hard as doing 80%.

the ugly way is easier for the parser on some edge cases. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_vexing_parse

syntax "beauty" is just a matter of how used to it you are (excl brainfuck ofcourse). Admitting this, is quite a big present one can give to him/her self.

not necesarily. Slave using countries survived for centuries. (business can be successful even if it makes people miserable)

Generalization:

- each role in a company tries to optimize/nudge whole organization toward this role's convenience.

- specialization improves local optimum (advances certain role) at the cost of global optimum (everybody has to dance around new roles processes)

- joining seceral roles into one, creates the oposite result, optimum is searched at more global level (not necessarily found)

- Separation of responsibilities (aka creation of new role) can generate a fractal (e.g. tester of left winglets blue stipe's thickness meter)

- complete joining off roles will create homogenous chaos after n employees (everybody should do everything)

prediction: we will see constant experimentation, first roles will be split, then some will get joined. then split again. then joined again. (people cant search for local optimum and global optimum at the same time)

mono repo approach (or something to that direction)

It is because (some) people believe/have faith in Musk. To some, he is a icon/leader to follow blindly. They trust him a lot.

Which is because, his work/impact as ceo is visible on company and industry levels. contrast that with mba shortsighted ceos and/or ceos who sit on their assess waiting for golden parachute to deploy (thats the sentiment, irrelevant if unfounded). Charisma and beeing somewhat casual/releatable person on tv also helps.

if there is no other choice. Yes, reluctantly, I would accept hiv. (i.e. I accept days to years duration of life vs minutes to hours)

The thing is, donated blood is always in short supply. you dont have much choice, when you have a serious blood-loss.

edit: I would be very angry if sombody would have chosen to use hiv blood on me while I was uncounciuos. Similar to how I would be angry if my arm would be amputated, while my conciousness was away.

the worst crime, is suggesting series which I just finished watching. wtf. I know that its technically good for their bottom line if I watch same thing twice (twice the revenue for the same cost), but that ia so frustrating, when trying to find something to watch.

i have abit opposite "filter". If it has 7 seasons, I assume they will milk it for many years to come.

Evidence is king.

But hyphoteticaly...

if I'm an outlier, and blind test is made on only me, and reveals that I am sensitive to chlorated water.

...I would count that as evidence based.

as chistians say, "turn the other cheek". (labeling did not made much harm, dont get too ivested in that)

reality is, that we can't have policy/public sentiment that is nuanced. (I heard it breaks the timecontinuum)

Find the silver lining and move on. I'm just glad that, a lot of people are in pro-vaccine side overall. While in your case it is a bit of mob mentality (mostly appeal to authority + optimism + jugde_dissagreeing_side), in the long run "pro vaccines" is (even if only on average) leaps and bounds and couple of parsecs better than "no vaccines".

Even if this particular vaccine was ok (and I still feel fine after the booster), the process seems shady if results are kept secret (having good processes is very important. remember "checks and balances")
