I forgot they were still working on a device, any guesses what it is?

I’m guessing a wrist wearable

As for how these requirements were determined… no clue. Never received an answer. Jury’s still out on that…

some good points such as lack of promotion/relegation but ultimately misses the root cause

Requirements to forming a division 1 league, as determined by the ‘US Soccer Professional League Standards’:

- minimum 12 teams (14 by year 3)

- each team’s principal owner has individual net worth of $40M

- 75% of teams located within major metro markets (at least 1M people)

- 15,000 seat stadium (and enclosed)

- teams located in each of the Eastern, Central and Pacific time zones

More often than not, they’re aware but let it slide because they pity you

With every passing headline, Windows sounds less and less like an Operating System, and more like a hobbyists revival project for a dead game I’ve never heard of

What the hell is going on at Microsoft?

Don’t be discouraged. The work that you enjoy doing is still here, and will still be here after you’ve graduated.

My best advice to you would be to learn CS the hard way (without AI).

Ignore the “AI learning tools” see on HN or mentioned by peers. Learning should be challenging so if it feels like a shortcut, it probably is. Don’t fall into that trap and you’ll be a more competent developer as a result, both with and without AI

Yep. Not just copyright but patents as well

> The Supreme Court previously rejected Thaler's request to hear his argument in a separate case involving prototypes for a beverage holder and a light beacon concerning whether AI-generated inventions should be eligible for U.S. patent protection. His patent applications were rejected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on similar grounds.

> This is the internet. Real offenders will just submit the next PR with a new alt account.

Than it escalates to a platform issue so you just report them in that case. GitHub enforcement staff handles it

“- Creating alternative accounts specifically to evade moderation action taken by GitHub staff or users”

This is what’s called a “customer complaint” at real businesses with real paying customers lol

Scale IS a problem, just not the only one.

Consequences are the inevitable solution. Accountability starting with authors, followed by organizations/institutions.

Warning for first offense, ban after

Whether you or someone/something else wrote it is irrelevant

You’re expected to have self-reviewed and understand the changes made before requesting review. You must to be able to answer questions reviewers have about it. Someone must read the code. If not, why require a human review at all?

Not meeting this expectation = user ban in both kernel and chromium

Microsoft isn’t going to declare death of the PC and pivot to “cloud computers”/virtual desktops (again) just because of temporary RAM/SSD supply shortages lol

> And Amazon CEO just said it out loud about cloud computers.

And Google said Stadia would have “negative latency”

Command/“prompt” injection is correct terminology and what they’re typically mapped to in the CVE

E.g. CVE-2026-22708

During winter outages, do you stick to the heat pump or switch to a backup heat (e.g. furnace)?

I regrettably removed our old furnace/tank when installing the air source heat pump we have now (northeast), but that’s been my biggest concern power wise
