Last time you tried to get rid of a sofa, wardrobe, or bed on Facebook Marketplace or classifieds like Craigslist: how many messages, how many “I’m on my way”, how many no-shows?
I am researching to understand why second-hand bulky furniture is chaotic - both for sellers and buyers. I am only looking for real experiences from the last 24 months:
Seller (giving away / selling / donating):
A large furniture item (e.g., sofa, bed, wardrobe, table, dresser)
ideally under a deadline (move-out, clearance, renovation, new tenant)
used: Facebook Marketplace / classifieds / neighborhood groups / flea market / second-hand shop
(or paid for removal/pickup)
Buyer (buying / picking up for free):
bought or picked up a large furniture item second-hand (or for free)
used: Facebook Marketplace / classifieds / second-hand channels

A 90s B class movie from Bollywood. This tool certainly saved me 2 hrs of my life by offering a decent summary. Not that I would have actually watched the whole movie, but it worked. I do not know of real life applications for me, but certainly interesting that you can use AI to do this.
I tried running LLMs on my old Mac Mini (late 2012) and got success in that. I found an old thread where someone else was also trying the same thing but likely had slightly less powerful hardware than mine.
