It's not "great news," it's a drop in the bucket. Only the end of FF extraction and large-scale bio oceanic carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) (phytoplankton and/or kelp, GMO possibly) can bring about a net negative carbon budget to get back to preindustrial levels soon enough before human civilization collapses.
Another example is Iceland's direct air capture plant. It is immensely expensive, power-hungry, and unable to scale. Such approaches are doomed to fail because they are big engineering solutions that don't utilize life to do more of the work for us. If we don't solve the problem at scale, soon enough, in a cost-effective manner, then we die.
How about reducing beef production for all of the other problems it causes besides climate change? Antibiotic resistance, pandemics, supply-chain fossil fuel demands, deforestation, resource waste (water and calories), animal cruelty, and air/water/soil pollution.
Alternatives are worthless because that's how to reach 0% adoption. Plastic packaging for food and single-use plastics should be banned outright. All sold containers should be standardized and reused just like they were decades ago.
I replaced docker desktop on my Mac with the CLI brew version and set DOCKER_HOST. This is because my 96-core, 0.5 TB RAM Linux server can run it just a wee bit faster than an old Mac mini.
Apple Car seems like an Apple Albatross with an RMS Titanic clamped to each leg. They should've just taken up commercializable fusion power with the kind of money needed to pull off a new car.
They could start by improving light switches, power outlets, and record players. Or even microwaves.
I don't understand why Apple would want to enter the automotive manufacturing business. It's so far-afield from computers, mobile screens, and accessories. TVs, home automation, VR glasses, smart home gym, and audio equipment seem much closer to the product mix than something random like a lawnmower, car, or business jet.
Unique, inconsequential details and themes immaterial to the plot line add texture and realism to a work. Otherwise, characters and scenes appear shallow, boring, and generic.
Interestingly, I have SCDS [0] in one ear which causes a similar effect by adding an echo of speech and awareness of inter-cranial sounds. And stuttering (silent block related to diaphragmatic incoordination, exacerbated by anxiety). You can train yourself to just talk over it, so it's not really a "STFU ray gun."
