To be fair, I think a lot of people would actually care if they actually did shut down in the state...

It’s not 2015. You can summon cabs with apps now, and they usually have better employee practices, so I don’t think people would care too much.

The thing that I personally have against the gig worker law is that if I, myself, want to be an independent contractor, I am not allowed to be one. Other people are upset about it as well. Fluck everything about that.

Why can't I just sign a document that I WANT to be self-employed, that I am a full-grown adult and can make my own decisions?

I think that the reason that the state mandates me, and other small business owners, is because instead of having to tax 500,000 individual business owners, the state government only has to collect my taxes from only one company, so it makes it easier for the state.
