It’s an amazing mind opening paradigm - especially since it also makes web UIs that sync As you edit even. (Miraweb feature)
It’s the closest thing to wiring up electronics while the are on that I have used.
It’s not FOSS but I highly recommend playing with the trial for a few hours. The example code is great and very active forums.
Pure data is great too, same idea, same original Creator, has evolved in some Slightly different directions but not as polished.

is the open source max equivalent. Max has integration with ableton, and that is great. But there's very little you can do in max that pure data can't also do.
It lacks VFX features compared to TouchDesigner, also not open source so those two things keep me away from it.
Aside, but the cookie-consent banner does not allow you to opt-out. Why do companies still do this?
