This isn't a Pixelbook, which was a particular line of first party devices. It's just a Chromebook (or a Windows laptop). I don't see the word Pixelbook anywhere on the page either so I'm not sure why that's in the HN title.
Neat that the non-Chromebook Dragonfly Pro has a Ryzen 7. (And interesting the Chromebook version does not use Ryzen but an i5, though granted it's $600 cheaper.)

Looks expensive, but very nice. I paid about $300 for a Lenovo Chromebook, that even though is much less powerful hardware, still seems like way more for the money. I like it when I travel because with the Linux container support I can program, is small and cheap (don’t worry about losing it) and works for consuming content.
Interesting to see hp hit the front page twice in one week, once for "hp is the most vile business and their executives should be in jail" and then moments later "ooh, pretty laptop!"
Seems like HP should be pretty universally reviled around here. Surprised to see an ad for them pop up.

This is just a random HP laptop?
I just want a premium-built laptop with Linux support out of the box. Seems too much to ask for.
Chromebooks come with an option to run a linux subsystem. It is fairly nice I can use the chromebook as intended and also hack on other things in linux.
Not the same but the option is there.

Secondly, this isn't a Pixelbook, right? Am I missing some hints to a cooperation with Google?
Apart from that, it looks decent but I would've hoped for a 3:2 aspect ratio but at least they haven't gone down the 16:9 route.
All in all, my 2017 Pixelbook is still working, still getting updates and whenever I'm too lazy to unplug my MacBook Air, i'll grab it as a couch device. Don't think I'll ever go back to working on a Chromebook full time.
