My partner was diagnosed back in 2016. We went and saw totality in 2017. That day we made hopefully plans to see the one tomorrow. Here we are, 7 years later having driven half way across the country to see tomorrow's eclipse. She is still in treatment and will be forever but she's here. I will definitely make a date for the next one in 20 years.

This comic hit close to home. Thank you for posting the link.

If you can travel to Spain, there's another in just 2 years!

What's the big deal...

If you've seen one ellipsis, you've seen them all.

Randall Munroe's partner was diagnosed with cancer a while (10+ years) and there has been several comics and blogs about it over the years.

This ellipsis to him is something perhaps he didn't think he'd be doing with his partner.

This I think is a really good comic - https://xkcd.com/931/

Why is everyone saying ellipsis instead of eclipse?

Something blocked the view of the right word.

The last image in that comic is burned in my memory. Incredibly powerful

Ya gotta work a bit on your empathy there. I think it’s pretty clear that the ellipsis is something more than just an ellipsis to them.
