I wish it had a mode to recommend installing detected software as well.

Not enough developers in open source are yet considering the ideology of the maintainers as a potential security concern. Among the few who think that far ahead are Xe Iaso and Ariadne Conill.
Ariadne may end up using her pull in the Alpine community to implement Rich Felker's idea: have a distro-wide Code of Conduct that applies to all software in the distro. Packages maintained by fash won't be included in the distro.
