That's where my rule "don't pay for anything digital unless you get the DRM-free files" comes from.
Literally, what is the point of buying any digital media at this point?
The point vs renting is you get a "full" refund and get go sign up for another shady and worse service to buy it again. There's no inflation adjustment, so unless you're lucky and catch it at a good time, you're literally paying more for the exact same media that you had "permanent" access to.
