Ask HN: Cryptic refusals of credit cards with Firefox?

On Ubuntu 24 Firefox, trying to buy a ~$1500 item from major vendors new to me gets failures at various points in the transaction. At last reaching an actual human on phone support, was told FF is the problem.

Anyone else seeing this?

My kid's soccer platform just (like in the last week) adopted a captcha for even public facing pages and it fails miserably on Firefox (Fedora). So pointless and frustrating. I have not dug into what captcha platform they are using.
