Students who are performing well above grade level is just as sound practice as providing appropriate instruction to students not performing on grade level. Those who wish to see the demise of free public education are currently fanning the flames of equity and race to create further divides. It’s time to improve the methods used to select students for intervention and to revise the language used to name the programs or services.
