If the other Western countries have grievences, then their trade policy will reflect those grievances even if there is no 'bloc?' and the result of all those countries implementing their policy will be similar to if they had done it as a group. right? And the article points out that the us is singled out by China's tarrifs, so the rest of the bloc would not act in the interest of the US. You also mention SK and Japan but those countries have even higher tarrifs than China for the US, so should they not also be made subject to the global market (ie be engaged in 'trade wars') ? If their trade policy can't survive the free market, why should they not change?

Wow, how refreshing. An objective relation on the trade tensions between the US and China. I am very disappointed by NPRs marketplace -- their correspondence is essentially like listening to teenage gossip reveling in using the term 'trade war' instead of treating the topic with the respect that it deserves.

Why was the Jake Paul apology video not posted? It has the same substance, ie it's emotional content that doesn't follow guidelines.

I have worked in factories and I can confirm that the people claiming safety violations in the factory (in the Reddit link) are completely biased. It's a complete hack job and I don't even know how you could see it any other way. I've worked in the best factories in the country and we would not live up to the standards of those reporters. You could literally walk into any factory and find conditions worse. If these reporters cared about the welfare of workers all they have to do is check in on five random factories in their area and I guarantee they will find appalling conditions that actually warrant reporting.

Furthermore, everywhere I look people are hating on Elon musk. People defending musk are in the minortiy by a Longshot. So it irritates me when everyone piles on me for being a fan boy. I personally don't understand why these articles keep appearing here, especially since they don't follow guidelines and also since the issue has been beaten like a dead horse here and everywhere else.

Wow, this article is actually not a biased attack. I wrote the comment assuming it was because of the rarity of unbiased writing of any kind regarding musk. What I don't get is why everyone thinks musk should be sued for libel because people call each other pedophiles maybe literally once every second on Twitter. That's like saying that he should be sued for calling someone a liar because that's also libel I think. It's just stupid.

In general dissenting from the dominant narrative will always make you unpopular. Just don't worry about it. It takes a special personality to just be satisfied with being right even when people resist even the most inescapable logic, dogde all your points with personal attacks and flippant nonsense and so on. There is a saying that goes something like "don't worry about people stealing your ideas, if they are any good you'll have to shove it down their throats." There is no truer proverb.

Doesn't it leave you shaky? I had similar results but the comedown and the tolerance were deal-breakers. I am completely absent minded but when I take those stimulants it allows me to focus which, I feel, finally puts me on a level playing field with everyone else. It sucks that the drugs have side-effects.

This reminds me of jackass and skating. There used to be a huge following for jackass stunts and skating culture. I was a part of that following and I loved it. Looking back I am confused because jackass just seems sad. Through the eyes of an adult it loses almost 100 percent of it's charm. I suspect that twitch is the same thing because I just don't get it. People seem to be completely oblivious to the horrible sadness of what they do -- from streaming to an empty chat and all the way to personality worshiping. The whole thing is just awful. I would say it will face the same death as jackass and skater culture.

He responded to rudeness with rudeness. He spent money and suffered a PR black eye in an effort to help and this guy went on CNN and told Elon to shove the submarine up his ass. That is the absolute height of rudeness -- nobody has even mentioned it. And even worse, the British ex Pat justified his juvenile comment by basically saying that the submarine was I'll conceived and that it was all a PR stunt. Saying the sub wouldn't have worked doesn't make sense because it wouldn't make Elon a bad guy and it wouldn't be a reason to hate him. And saying that this all was a PR stunt is highly, highly insulting -- basically saying that he has no soul and is taking advantage of potentially the death of a dozen young boys simply to shore up his public image a little. That is a far worse accusation than "pedo." Just because the ex Pat is not famous doesn't excuse that kind of behaviour. And just because Elon is famous doesn't mean he isn't human or justified in responding in kind to this guy. And everyone is going to pile on me for being in the Elon cult and being an Elon fan boy and on and on. It's just the way I see it, I'm not in a cult or a fan club. Don't try to brush away the logic of my words with stupid shortcuts like those.

He was asked to continue on the sub by people in the water. His efforts never obstructed or inhibited any of the other, main rescue efforts in any way. Whether or not the sub would have worked is irrelevant because it was simply presented to the rescuers as a last ditch option. This entire fixation with Elon musk and the sub and frankly everything involving Elon musk is insane. Everyone is rallying against the musk "fan boys" yet the landslide majority of people are on the anti-musk bandwagon everywhere I look.

And by the way, a pedo is someone with the mental illness symptom of sexual attraction to children, not someone who has molested children. Sorry if you or someone you know got molested but it's not relevant. If you want to ban pedo jokes because you have PTSD that's an entirely different conversation.

You are confusing yourself. I never spoke about who the most qualified person was for any task whatsoever. That has nothing to do with anything because I don't really think it's in contention who knows more about cave diving. I simply said that rescuing small weak boys who have zero diving experience from miles of submerged cave is basically something that has happened very seldomly. And I am correct.

I said that in relation to my claim that musk wasn't passing up tried and true methods because there were none because this never happens. If you actually have a substantive remark on any of that please let me know.

How is any of that relevant when the task has never been done before and there is a deadline? They iterated as much as they could given the deadline, past which the kids would die anyway? Fuzzy thinks ng is abound in this topic.
