That's very well thought-out. The tinfoiler in me wonders if that's true, though, and if there aren't subtler avenues for circumvention that still target this trust-based system, especially via social engineering.
I had little interest in security before Snowden, so admittedly, I need to lurk moar and keep learning. Thanks for offering another argument I can try to fit against new facts I encounter and helping me continue that process.
Who can resist a sufficiently determined state that still enjoys popular support? All he has to do is engineer the support for "security" over the long term.
While we're trotting out anecdotes, I have heard and experienced only the opposite.
One friend in particular who was given a windows phone by his large, seattle-based employer (ahem) had no end of trouble. The UI was great, but basic functionality was terrible. The thing could never handle SMS--we had to call him constantly, just to let him know what was going on, then we all would sporadically receive 4-5 texts from him that made no sense out of context. It was a nightmare.
It's a personnel matter, so reddit will never tell you, and she's likely bound by an agreement to never disclose.
My guess is not censoring the Jesse Jackson AMA when the users got nasty. I have another comment on this site that details what I suspect went down. You can search it out if you're really curious--I don't know how to permalink here.
>1) Have one of the outputs be a box and whisker output showing the percentiles of ages the person will run out of money.
This is essential, and I wish it hadn't been overlooked. The only power of stochastic modeling over deterministic modeling is in quantifying the likelihood of outcomes in the outcome space.
Unfortunately, this requires either crazy stochastic math, or multiple computations (monte carlo methods). I suspect the op is a great guy and just hasn't been exposed to these ideas yet. When he does, he's going have that head-slapping moment we all have when we first encounter it.
She's not counting the loyal lurkers such as myself that have cut ourselves off completely. I have blocked reddit on all of my devices as a result of this ordeal. I'm curious if there are many others like me.
>In Sweden, he would get a fair trial at a european court. If his case even would go to trial. Then he would be extradited to the U.S. by treaty, where he would be exposed to the horrors of the American Justice System.
Let me explain this in simple terms so everyone here can understand what's going on
1) Pao is still intent on shaking down the silicon valley establishment. She's made that very clear by here refusal to settle with KP, even after the embarrassing loss in the original case. Probably to bail out Ole Buddy, her hubby.
2) Jesse Jackson has decided to go where the real money is and start shaking down silicon valley for donations to his rainbow putsch coalition
3) Pao and Jackson are now aligned in intent--both want the moral high ground in their scheme to extort money from silicon valley using whatever weird false narrative of priviledge they can create
4) Pao invites the Right Reverend to do an AMA, likely coordinated by Victoria in order to start the press game for his campaign
5) Reddit users hurl abuse (rightfully so) at the Right Grifter Jackson over his continued race-baiting and hypocrisy (having an affair while 'counselling' president Clinton over his affair? Jesus Christ!)
6) Jackson gets pissed because he can't control the message. His people likely say something to Chairman Pao's people.
7) Pao realizes she done goofed and potentially lost a valuable ally in her extortion scheme.
8) Pao uses Victoria as a scapegoat to try to save face and fires her on the spot.
Now, all of this is rumor, but c'mon, you know it's what happened. It's common sense.
I'm not actively trying to denigrate the humanities, but when you go to college to study something which does not rely on objective measures of reality, or even truth, you end up with a highly disordered mind.
This sort of lexical scattergunning--a sentence appearing to follow all the rules of syntax and usage, but which is in reality drivel sprinkled with ten dollar words, is a classic marker.
I just wish it were less obtuse to set up.
