I love Taleb, I've been following his advice for a few years now and have found that absolutely nothing in my life has changed except having a lot more free time and a lot less stress.

So either people got more violent after 9/11 and therefore brought more weapons, or people were always bringing guns onto planes. I’d bet on the latter, and yet how many terror attacks occurred? Hmmm…
I think there is a clear distinction between failing and lying then being exposed.
Join a start up and it fails horribly? Turn around and join a big corp, no cares if you didn't make a dime during that time.
Lying blatantly about everything to everyone until they find out is not in the same league as checking 4chan during work. Which is hardly a fireable offense imo.
I recommend Calculus Made Easy by Thompson. This book is short but complete. I read it at 22.
I gave up on mathematics after my first college course but found that for everything I wanted to get into, Machine Learning & Bayesian stats, it was essential . A year later I know math better than ever before even though I haven't stepped inside a classroom in years.
You're probably getting bored because most math books are hundreds of pages long and in addition to the material they include mathematicians bio's, several solution methods, and the explanations of edge cases.
