I don't want to spend forever on this. Does anyone know where I can go?
I got an OQuest2 gathering dust. It's a pain in the ass. Trying to use the (£80!!) wire is devastating. I can't remember but every time you plug it in, it asks if you want to give access. Then you enter this `oculus` lobby but you want steam, so now you enable link, but before that, you need to set a guardian. So its OK OK OK ALLOW OK... each time taking it off to look at your PC screen just to see `steam vr` can't find my headset, so i put it on and off again and it doesn't work but eventually it does, then it says I can't find my controllers, just the headset, and I reset the headset and restart my PC, then back to OK OK OK ALLOW OK.
Then the game I bought it shit so I ALT-F4 in rage and I go back the `oculus` home screen in oculus, but `steam` is still running and tells me VR is fine so I launch a game and it runs on my desktop and my headset runs Steam home.......
Like, this is fucking total and utter garbage at the very highest levels of praise.
Assume it is a brick, landfill. I repeat my request, someone is saying "GrapheneOS`. What is that? Does it mean I own my headset in a good way?
I'd genuinely appreciate all answers as I didn't need a $500 doorstop. They are 0.34 cents in Malmart.
Not so much the food, but I am heavily addicted to Coke Zero. I tried on Monday to quit it after a 2 week focus to prepare and I failed within 2 hours. I have previously quit nicotine for example so it's blown my mind why I can't handle stopping this simple drink.

All our countries in some way buy everything from China, at least in the UK? Everything I have is in some way stamped with "Made in China" since I was quite young looking at my xmas toys. It seems to still be that way. The UK economy wants me to take out a credit card, get a haircut, buy a beer, then buy a sandwich and maybe stay in a hotel. If I want a TV, Fridge, Phone, Table, Standing Desk, Motor, Bicycle... It's made in China.
Over the years, I have seen information about the rise of China, when I go to my capital city, the vast majority of people I see are Chinese tourists, far more than I have ever seen American's despite being closer.
What I am just wondering is, the UK doesn't have a pot to piss in. In this country it will take decades to pay for a tiny little rail link whilst in China, they are laying high speed rail at a pace that literally blows my mind.
I can't put my finger on it but what is the point in this for spending money? America is a bag holder, the UK is involved to make it seem important, and what is the end goal for Australia? What is the actual end goal for any of us?

That security key thing threw me and was so frustrating. I have an older iphone so unintuitively, I have to open the app and cancel the touch to login and then touch the "generate key" button because if I log in there is no "generate key" button and I have missed the boat by that point.

I do `new > text document` enough so in 20 years that I still do it for all types of reasons. Often I do it when I signing up for an unknown-if-useful service and copy paste stuff into this newly created file.
I am sure in my early days, I used `new > Bitmap image` and it wasn't valid so I never used it again. Infact `new > folder` and `new > text document` is all I use, and I just noticed I have many options here.
I think Linus Tech Tips looked at one of these, if it wasn't the same it was similar, it was very jiggly and seemed irritating.
I also thought that a Semi Circle chair which started at sitting position and over X hours each second, it shifted X of a degree until you finished lying down so there was constant change. No idea how that would work though.
Standing desk solved my back problems, but totally unhappy with all ergonomic chairs so far (Cheap-to-Herman Miller mainly). I kind of gave up burning money on them because it takes several weeks to get a feeling for a chair.
I seen a video on this today, (megaprojects) and I thought the same thing and wondered how deep it goes.
Like something about the sun shield being the width of a human hair, someone put the idea forward, something about how many motors are involved in unpacking, someone put the idea forward. All the way to the Ariane rocket.
Is for example, the Ariane rocket so good that the person in charge is sipping tea and eating biscuits the night before launch, or is that person biting their nails to the bone hoping that it doesn't go wrong in some way with a 10 billion payload on board?
By far, the worst thing I ever done was Game Development. I poured years of starting my career into it. I worked at Sony in the UK then Bizarre Creations and had a wee go at Rockstar North. Bizarre Creations was amazing, and everything else was terrible.
Not too long after, the financial crisis hit and I found myself working on the Flash Runtime just to earn a crust (my partner and I had just got a house and her father was diagnosed with cancer so I was kind of stuck in the wrong location).
Then Stevo came along and that ended any hope of continuing with Flash Runtime. I eked out some work with Scaleform.
Then Typescript came out, then Angular, and now I work 1% of the effort for 10000%+ uptake on my salary and never looked back.
Game development is genuinely a mugs game and I'd urge everyone not to do it.
It occurred to me that the BBC Micro (I didn't have one but my friend did) was pretty strange? Given the nature of the BBC (Licence fee for broadcasting). What was the funding setup?
In a strange way, there would be outrage if BBC Autonomous Vehicle or BBC Rocket Launch Services were a thing today. It just seems odd.
I get away with being "The grumpy Scotsman", it's got the point that I don't even get invited which took some work but wouldn't have it any other way. I am still held in high regard at work and part of the furniture now. I just don't do that forced shit. It's not my personality.
Around 4-5 years ago, I seen a baby seagull had fallen out of it's nest into my garden so I immediately noticed seagulls for the first time. I would feed it cheap haddock cuts. At first the parents were in attack mode but I feel that eventually they accepted me. It was cool to see the baby learn to fly and the parents seemingly being involved.
Anyway although it is hard to tell by looking, each year one of the parents comes back. The only way I feel I know is because in spring if I hang my washing out, all of a sudden this seagull will land and mooch around on the grass, sometimes I have to nudge it with my foot as I go along the washing line to get it out of the way. It's pretty odd given how cagey seagulls are and it doesn't do that if I am not alone.
Edit: I feed it bits and pieces which is the reason of course, but it's nice to see the association none the less.
Anyway I call him Steve as in Steven Seagal. Hopefully it's a male.
