When the list says "Debian" or "Ubuntu" it includes all software in Debian and Ubuntu. That includes software like Google Chrome, Firefox, Python, Ruby, etc. For example out of the 40 listed in 2019 in Debian 36(!) are Google Chrome bugs, not Debian bugs.
Do go ahead and count CVEs in Windows and Windows software (games, office, databases, browsers, etc.) and come back with your results for an apples to apples comparison or go back to Reddit and troll.
There isn't any question at all that Facebook is forced upon you. Many things are only available on Facebook - even some official government stuff and lots of businesses use it for things workers cannot do without (working hours shared on Facebook etc.). Clearly it should not be allowed to harvest data without consent from people forced to use its platform.
That Facebook even mentions YouTube as a direct competitor is laughable and shows they have no case for appeal. They might as well had said Netflix or the library!
1 in 4 is better than 0 in 4, which is what most of the worlds traffic sees outside northern europe. I also don't really believe it is close to as bad as 1 in 4. Studies I have seen seem to say it works almost every time but maybe not perfectly so.
Have you tested if Firefox use more RAM when low on free memory? Using unused RAM is better than not using it. Looking at amount of RAM used by an application is not a useful benchmark. Unless your are seeing swapping Firefox is doing The Right Thing.
The only interesting thing about this is left out. Who planted it is clear (someone told to do so) but not a single time is it questioned who they planted it for. Smells like false flag to me.
We think China does X Y and Z but we know the US does X Y Z and the rest of the alphabet. So unless something specific is leaked that shows who actually ordered this, logic would point at the US.
I find it quite amusing that you two see "reddit downvote conservative posts" and "/r/politics having a clearly left lean". I stopped using Reddit because of two things: Everything is extremely US-centric and everything is clearly right leaning. I guess it depends on your point of view. At least as a European I can't recognize the left-lean at all.
