Source? The only news I can find about is EU users can uninstall it.

Checked what in EU? Do Microsoft not bundle their own browser in Windows in EU?

Why is density any bit important? All I care about is the price per transistor, and the power usage(mostly gate charge and leakage current?).

So by extension, the question "The first letter of Oman is _", and "O is the first letter of country _" the same for humans?

Germany gets pollution from all around due to bad coal, just like they got deaths due to Chernobyl.

I tracked down the source once and almost all of the fossil fuel deaths boiled down to deaths due to particulate matter in developing countries. It is highly preventible and only occurs because of no oversight or corruption. If we scale nuclear and have profit maximisation as objective and have no standards in factory, it will have significantly worse fate.

There isn't any point in the article or video that describes why it is worse than session token in any way. Personally, I think 5 minute expiry is too long and I think 10-30s expiry is the ideal range, so that one page load requires 1 token.

> Sessions need to have longer lifespans than that.

Why is this JWT issue. JWTs generally have refresh token, which are database validated and we need to just refresh once for 100s of calls in 5 minute.

> "stateless"

Yeah this sounds bad and I don't think people do it.

> JWTs which just store a simple session token are inefficient and less flexible than a regular session cookie, and don't gain you any advantage.

Ok, but it is not worse too.

> The JWT specification itself is not trusted by security experts. This should preclude all usage of them for anything related to security and authentication. The original spec specifically made it possible to create fake tokens, and is likely to contain other mistakes. This article delves deeper into the problems with the JWT (family) specification.

What are they even trying to say?

> TLA+, which has gained quite a lot of popularity

Why do you think that? Outside of just toy examples, and vague examples of "AWS uses that", I don't know of any actual code which has TLA. Most of the things you can do with TLA, you can do with informal math notation quite easily.

Do you have any real world long term usage examples?

Most of qwen's model is open source, but qwen max is closed source.

Also if you believe that they are not burning billions for charity, in my thinking making the model closed or restricted is the way to earn return on their investment.

They are not. The amount of conspiracy in high ranked HN comments for AI companies is insane.

I don't think they are most efficient for small GPUs. I think they might only be the one which have capex and certainty required for multimillion dollar purchase of GB200 NVL72 or something of that scale.

I have many diverse friend groups. And HN is lot lot more anti AI then even the worst of the non technical groups I am in. e.g. [1] is so detached from reality and got to front page for multiple days recently. Or [2].

I have never seen a positive story(I am not talking about things like current model, just how positive AI could be like the Sam Altman post) in front page for a long time. Feel free to disprove me.

Why do these kind of articles getting into front page in HN everyday. There is nothing substantive and these are the empty kind of articles that anti AI folks should be against.

No one is forcing you or pressuring you to not call friend to ask for recipe. Even AI would say that you should talk to friends.

Where did 4 order of magnitude even come from? If I were to guess it is just 5x larger based on the pricing, so not even 1 order of magnitude.

> Mythos is not 4 orders of magnitude larger than Opus

Again can you define this. How would 4 order of magnitude better look like?

Lot of the things aren't facts that could be stated. No one can just see the dictionary or translation of words and start talking in that language.

There isn't a clear definition of what is knowledge and what is intelligence. Is being able to write in C knowledge? Is knowing undefined behaviour in that knowledge?

What do you mean by 3-4 orders of magnitude better? Was Einstein 3-4 order of magnitude better than us?

Meaningful in the sense it could find security vulnerabilities in browser and kernel that >99% of the engineers couldn't find.
