The US government does run its own self-hosted analytics platform (https://analytics.usa.gov), which the USPS does in fact use. Which makes it all the more questionable that they were additionally using third-party analytics.
There have been a series of beta releases since June. (For some reason, they say in the linked page that beta releases have only been available since August, but that's not correct).
For example, there is no option to cancel a Wall Street Journal digital subscription on the web site, unless you change your billing address to one in California, and then a cancel option will appear.
An interesting detail of the SEGA Channel is that it was a one-way modem. There was no way for the cartridge to communicate anything back to the headend. Instead, there was a constant broadcast of

...
looping forever. When you selected a game, it would just wait for it to come around on the loop and store it locally.
