I'm not sure Apple is ahead on backup & restore with the iPhone / iPad.
You shouldn't need a desktop (with an OS that runs iTunes) in the first place. I read that the first thing you need to do with iPad is to connect it to iTunes.
I'm not sure that a good name has to be "Illustrative of our service". This can be good or bad, depending on the case.
I personally favor names that can let you change course in the future. That said, the new name "OfficeDrop" is general enough if you already have a line of business.
As the article says, malfunctioning isn't a privilege of the body, minds can do it too.
So the word "pathetic" is uncalled for. William Styron wrote a fantastic book about what it is like to be depressed: "Darkness Visible". Well worth a read.
IMO, this argument is a red-herring: you can write bad code in any language.
Perl lit is awesome and erudite: the best idioms are described in the Cookbook. Programming Perl is a joy to read, Best Practices could be used as a standards guide.
I agree that v5 has some problematic constructs, but, all in all, what Larry Wall & Co did was awesome.
