Luckily she didn't do COBOL or PL/I, or she would be fixing stuff 24/7. For me it was more copying others and don't try to come up with a better/more clever solution for something every single time. Sometimes the current solution is just good enough.

I have, once. IBM does exactly that for z/OS (with the exeption that you can share patches). This is of course a whole other level of software and price tag.
