This is my usage pattern and I agree it works really well. I start almost every conversation by asking Claude to read, not write. Then once it's explored a particular slice I let it rip.
This takes a couple minutes (and I suppose I'm spending tokens each time), but sessions rarely reach compaction length and I like that I'm not trying to keep a whole separate pile of docs in sync.
I learned to program with KidSIM and later Stagecast Creator, a spin-off of Apple's Advanced Technologies Research Group in the 90s. I'm re-creating it so a new generation can learn the fundamentals of object-oriented programming the same way I did. I've been working with Dave Canfield Smith (one of the original authors and also inventor of the icon ) and it's been a blast to bring back my earliest memories of programming. All open-source and free of course.
Just want to drive by and mention - a friend told me to play DDLC and I was highly skeptical given the anime pin-up girl art style. I eventually gave in and gave it a shot.
It's an amazing "playable story" unlike anything I have ever played. Super creative and well worth the couple hours it takes to play. I think it could use a few trigger warnings and it should be rated PG-13 / R, but there's stuff on Netflix 10x more disturbing so I don't quite grok the Google push back on this one.
They're actually correct about the notification use case - the server has to generate the message text that is displayed, and no application code can be run unless the user taps the notification and launches your app.
