Great article! Personally I'd prefer PeopleRank to describe what Google is building but the AuthorRank mentioned in the article definitely gets the point across.
The "now it's ready for prime-time" view is to me more indicative of the maturity of the user than the Linux desktop environment. It looked the same way to many of us, on the surface, when we were at that stage.
If you don't mind, what was the appeal of having a hard-copy? The handful of times I picked up Linux Journal, I was disappointed that the articles were discussing topics that were freely available online. I'd wondered what the market for this and similar magazines was. Is having the info in an offline format the draw? Offline reference purposes?
rev - reverses the order of characters in every line for processing. Sometimes the values you need to cut are more consistently delimited from the end of the line than the beginning. Simpler and easier than sed in these cases. Reverse the line, cut the value and pipe it back into rev to display it normally.
In case there was any doubt about the feasibility of coordinating a large-scale conspiracy involving large numbers of personel, here it is. In plain view yet we may never see it.
