Lmao I was wondering when someone would chime in on beauty being discussed about something painful. Doesn't add anything we didn't already know but glad to see the sufferers chime in.
Well technically less amazing or you wouldn't have brought it up. If it were equally amazing you wouldn't care and if it were truly more amazing you'd be left wondering how. Ultimately you really feel like this is just up to par.
Except for the chance to signal that you "get" wavelengths.
Edit: oh man no way, thejacenxpress seems to have blown this guy clean out of the water. If all his greater-than sign quotes are to be believed and to be believed that they came from the linked material... the parent's post shines through as being truly fraudulent in a way I only lightly touched upon.
Downvote and ban he!
I like how somewhere else in the thread someone is wondering "how can the New York times be trash?" Who on Earth would question their non-failing nature?
Meta-edit: I seem to have turned this into an opportunity to bash NYT. Seems self-awareness isn't lost on me after all.
My screen jumped around so many fucking times when I open this link. Is the story "Pretty art screen startup Meural gets acquired by ugly wifi router company"?
I can't tell anymore with these spammy fake fuckin news places
> “It is important,” said Mr. Brooks, “that we can make a toy that doesn’t jeopardize” children’s future.
That's a weird looking quote. The last two words (children's future) aren't really part of what he said? Was that something the writer added or changed to make it more clear, or more evocative? If so, shouldn't it say [children's future]?
First of all this is an ad hominem. How did it get to the front page of HN? There is a streisand effect at play here and game theory stuff. This "begs the question," what is a meme? I hope someone will "expand on it." Explain it to me as though I were five years old. It was too long to read.
The trick to the home door locking thing is "I most likely did it" plus "it's all just crap, anyways." This let's you work around robbery and fires as well (if you live in California).
A commenter mentioned brokers. I've had companies that do this approach me asking if I would be interested in acquiring like-businesses in my space. They'll cold-contact you with scant details about the business and ask that you sign an NDA to receive more details (especially given what they will tell you before signing). Sure, you can understand why. To know that a competitor seeks acquisition is a useful bit of knowledge to have. Signing an NDA is a huge turn off, though. I don't know of any better way but that has been my experience on the buyer's end. I might be an outsider in my reluctance to sign things like that but it's something to keep in mind when considering that option.
Just a personal suggestion, don't use a company like Flippa. You risk completely destroying the value of your property.
The top comment on HN is about low grade webshit complaints. Why is no one taking this place seriously anymore? It's beyond comprehension. My CPU is melting while I wrap my mind around this.
It's called human resources. It exists to manage humans as a resource. The idea that it exists to benefit you comes from having human in the name. It's like a farm having a department called cow resources.
That's cold blooded. I'm sure a lot of good people were financially devastated by that poor decision. A hopelessly bleak existence can do a lot to your capacity for rational thought. A few people I know asked me if I thought they should invest in Bitcoin at the time. I'm thankful my answer was consistently 'nope'!
Interesting. Maybe Facebook didn't like being dragged through the mud by news organizations. Maybe Facebook is hurting them back by asphyxiating them. I can't say I'd feel very bad about that if that were the case.
