Integration of style-cop-like rules seems ok, my only worry is that all those features will make VS sluggish.
And that braces refactoring seems a poor example. Either you are a member of your team, and you don't write code without them, or it's some old code, that shouldn't be automatically refactored if the refactoring is the only goal.
WebGL is not a poor-man's subset of OpenGL, its the same subset that is supported by most mobile devices (OpenGL ES2.0). What are you missing? Quads? 3D textures? NURBS?
And yes, we know that JS is interpreted and that it's no use for building anything more than a clock on your webpage, right?
The video does not show that anything is being logged or sent through the network.
All it shows is that a phone monitoring agent is informed about events that might be important while debugging - receiveing text, making calls, opening websites, pressing buttons. And that its hard to kill this agent without rooting the device.
What is important is:
1. Is the data logged on the device? (I guess that should be easy on a rooted device),
2. Is there any data sent even if the 'htc quality agent' is not activated? (route it through a linux box, tcpdump)
3. Is the data really anonymized if the 'htc quality agent' is enabled?

I think it is a trend for current communist countries/dictatorships. Of course there will be corruption and nepotism, but why would you decide on someone without an engineering background to run a country?
If you give voting power to the people they'll just choose someone with a nice face and smooth voice, telling its all gonna be ok.
The recording was done by the thief himself. I guess distributing someones video could be a copyright violation, but wouldn't be criminal. However activating camera/microphone remotely might be considered a wiretap.
Another thought: suppose the thief sold the laptop immediately, and the person recorded is guilty of buying a used laptop.
I was surprised by the last scene in the video. In most countries no police officer on duty would tolerate being verbally and physically assaulted. Is he afraid (the woman being a party official), or is there another reason (e.g. cultural differences - with angry woman hitting man during conversation).
I'd love to see a documentary based on this underground material.
And stupid enviromental laws don't allow excessive mining and require costly procedures when handling waste. It hands the advantage to China, and other less restrictive countries.
'This is how its always been done' is not reason enough. Many sites require you to accept terms&conditions. Another checkbox really won't matter.
