“You’re opinion isn’t valid if you aren’t willing to spend money it.”
This way of thinking is so out of touch it hurts. Not everyone is some tech bro making bank and spending their free time doing crypto and option trades. The commenter has a valid belief that doesn’t need to be belittled just because you may not agree with it.
You would rather this type of person drive a 2 ton vehicle? “Well people are going to have poor judgement” isn’t really a good argument against anything.
I don’t understand what exactly you’re mad at the guy about? He made an ultra-usable textbox… millions of people use it every day instinctively because it’s a great tool. You can’t crucify him because of your own personal qualms and completely ignore the flip side of the coin.
Your argument is the same as “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people”. It’s still something with potential to cause a great deal of harm and should be regulated.
> Why would Zuckerberg intentionally want to fail at this task and have people hate his company?
Nobody wants to fail at anything. Doesn’t stop people from failing all the time. Nobody wants to get fired but if you suck at your job you get fired all the same.
You’re approaching this way too logically without considering the social aspects. Stop trying to think like a robot.
This website is an echo chamber many times more niche than other social websites. It’s mainly tech nerds with very similar beliefs and backgrounds. Opinons here, as with most websites, should be taken with a grain of salt.
“ I will ignore the “powered from mains” requirement for this round of the board and feed in 5V elsewhere.”
I feel this will be a challenge. The wall wart is the size it is because that’s the size of a transformer/rectifier for 120/240 to 5v. Trying to add a Linux machine to that but keep the same size is the tricky part.
Anyone that buys art assets online will tell you this is a bad idea. You’re obscuring the subject of the image and changing the feel of the picture. Watermarks and low res previews make sense because they will just make the image look worse while still being 100% recognizable. In his examples I cannot tell anymore that it’s an image of two men fighting.. so why would I buy that picture if I can’t tell what I’m looking at?
All of Apple’s prior ARM experience comes from iOS devices. They had no need to develop io capabilities for iPhones and iPads with a single port. Now they put the chips in computers but most likely haven’t fully yet developed extended io capabilities.
Pretty sure that the USB dongle was a solution to have the mice work on all computers because at the time, pretty much all desktops had no Bluetooth connectivity. The next step for them is going all in on Bluetooth (at least for the casual user products).
A big issue I see is from the switch to Face ID from Touch ID. With Touch ID you actually had to put your finger on the sensor to confirm payment. Now with Face ID that dialog just becomes another OK you accidentally press and your face gets scanned before you even realize what’s happening.
