1password for unique long passwords per account. I store OTP in 1password as well for the extreme convenience it offers on desktop & mobile.

Backup TOTP are put in .txt files for each service and in a folder encrypted by Cryptomator (using a unique pw not used by any other services, esp. 1password). This encrypted folder is put on flash drive on my keychain and synced into my google drive folder.

This feels to me like a pretty good balance between convenience and security. Not 100% of my eggs are in one basket, but it's true that my 1password account password needs to be long and well-guarded and never re-used for anything else. Also putting a lot of trust into 1password to not get breached...

This is great. I feel like this speaks to the strangeness of how this article was written perfectly.

I've been using Tuple for years even before COVID while working at Pivotal Labs.

Even though we have Slack huddles, Zoom meetings, Google hangouts, and more available. We prefer Tuple to the rest. It's the best app for screen sharing (and obviously for pairing).

Their support staff are also really good. They get back to you quickly with actual help from caring people.

The app has improved impressively since I first started using it. There are tons of useful features that devs will love. My top favorites are:

  1) Scriptable lifecycle triggers. I use this to pause Spotify when joining a call.

  2) Hiding certain apps content from being shared (messengers, pw managers, etc.)

  3) They give a lot of control to viewers of a screen share. What resolution is streamed, what keyboard buttons I want to send when controlling, drawing, emoting, typing, etc. All make for a seamless experience.
Disclaimer: I am NOT a Tuple employee and I do not know any Tuple employees personally. I am just a fanboy.
