For many years I had a Knoppix Live CD and later DVD/USB in my work bag, so that could boot up Linux if needed. I also had the Knoppix remaster called Quantian for scientific computing. Quantian had this cool feature called Mosix, that made it possible to connect computers that could share processes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantian

That would be cool. I really would like a 3d-printed replica shell of one of the old serial terminals, e.g. the TeleVideo 910.

It probably has a character mapped display, so you can only display 256 different (ascii and graphics) characters in a memory mapped 80*25 = 2000 bytes display buffer.

EDIT: I can now see that is does have bit mapped graphics. It must have a built-in serial like terminal with graphics capabilities.

EDIT2: Probably using this chip: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1590

"Europe would buy more US weapons"

Buying weapons from an unreliable and possibly adversarial (former) partner would create strategic dependence and weaken Europe’s defense autonomy. => It would be stupid.

".. because at the end of the day the US guarantees that Russia cannot pursue the type of landgrab it is currently trying to do in Ukraine against other states"

I am sorry to say that we (Europeans) increasingly do not believe that the US would help us.

The US is a complete mess and completely unreliable as a defense and business partner. Trump is driving Europe towards China. Even though China supports Russia against Ukraine, China seems much more dependable to do fair business with.

> Especially maybe try not to appear like they just want to desperately hold on to their colonies? I mean, where's the decolonization people when you need them

Greenland’s path to independence is clear in law: only the people of Greenland can decide, by referendum. Denmark would respect that choice. So far, Greenland has not chosen to start the process. The decision is entirely Greenland’s.

> Same experience as the child of migrants. America has boundless optimism and integrates people well

ICE??

> Same experience with safety nets too. America has tons of welfare. Not sure why people have issues with it honestly.

I am in my 50s, I have never seen a country as divided and toxic as the US, and that is for a reason.

> This is a cultural trait that seems very quickly absorbed even by immigrants.

Sure, for those who stay. If they didn't like the American way, they probably wouldn't stay. I have known many, who have stayed in the US for exchange, expat and science. They all had a great experiences, but no one wanted to stay as immigrants.

It’s an odd keyboard layout for a Linux computer. They should have gone with what I consider the true Unix layout - the Sun Microsystems Type 7 Unix keyboard: https://imgur.com/PftSNnk

You should make a separate HN post about this :-)
