Compared to 1.5/0.5 DSL its great, it's getting 60/11 about 40mi away from SpaceX (Starlink) HQ. But compared to municipal bidirectional gigabit fiber it's...not as great.
Heres ping info from starlink:
--- google.com ping statistics ---
38 packets transmitted, 38 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 26.879/45.073/95.627/11.582 ms
Have you looked at the Canadian express entry program? You would be making less $ that you can make in the USA but it is easier to deal with immigration, and that is still much, much more than $350/mo. Could probably work remotely for a company in the USA after that.
There are plenty of companies that like using their same old .NET or Java, you don't need newest JS...
Is there an easy way to deal with this e.g. compliance as a service?
Sounds like a nightmare to deal with, of course this is only assuming it is enforced. If it is not well who cares, companies like Lyft/Uber view laws as a starting point in negotiations when expanding into new areas not as a brick wall of dogma.
That is the point of the tax code, to be able to use it for political wielding of power e.g. the Chicken tax because LBJ was pissed at Europe that caused a 25% tariff on light trucks imported to the U.S. based on a retaliation for European tariffs on American chicken..
This is TMI due to the max, but it illustrates and I’m describing, it’s cost a good amount in opportunity cost too but whatever.
So I had IBS aka colon spasms to a debilitating degree and went to a couple highly-regarded doctors via my insurance including Kaiser and Blue cross in Seattle, but they said I was ok, and didn’t even do a referral to a gastroenterologist and just did blood panels. This destroyed my life and my relationship with my gf for a couple years and who I thought I was going to propose to, then it just mostly stopped.
I’ll have the odd spasm now and again but nothing like it was from 2017-2021. Now I’m in the other side of the country and it doesn’t bother me like wtf it just went away.
I’ve been screened for crohn's disease and ulcritive colitis and nothing came up. Sometimes our bodies are..strange.
I disagree. Move the capitol to the center of the country, put a lifetime ban on former elected officials lobbying, and that would get rid of a lot of corruption.
Doesn’t matter. We should care more about people who are dying on the street (I have seen this firsthand), have seen this myself in Seattle and SF, and giving everyone healthcare before giving Ukraine or any other country aid.
This is something that both Democrats and Republicans seem to ignore because they want to pursue their own self-interested agendas.
