Although I will shamefully admit that I was one of the naysayers. I might have even called someone a Conspiracy Nut in a prior conversation, with my perception of the person being obsessed with potential NSA spying / collection.
Oh, how wrong I was.
Side note: I find it interesting that a period of time developed where any type of deep curiosity into government activity was enough to get oneself stamped as a Conspiracy Nut. If I were the person pumping these narratives and troupes out, I'd be very happy with my result, in retrospect.
The logic is that at a certain point (altitude wise) you're just wasting energy by blowing a bigger hole in the ground, rather than detonating slightly higher and getting more bang for your buck (widespread target destruction).
I can't stand the abuse of H1Bs. While I may have personal feelings on labor from immigration, these people are still people.
In a similar flavor I never liked it when I worked at $BIGCO and people treated you differently if you were an employee v a contractor. It wasn't a privacy or trust-level thing - it was just social status stupidity.
And these same people claim possession of firearms is a public safety issue. Ironic.
> An example is that the police can engage in high-speed pursuits, and if you get run over and die, that's not their problem.
That is patently dishonest. Civil courts have awarded damages for people hit by police during chases.
